How are binoculars provided by Viking?

I know they provide them on  polar excursions. Not sure if on other cruises.

On Oceans, DV staterooms and above have one set of binoculars in the room.

Crummy compacts.  It pays to bring your own.  I got a very nice pair of Steiner compact for a bit over $100 on Amazon.

Speaking for Viking Ocean. They provide them on DV cabins and are quite small. They hide them inside the desk vanity. Better than nothing but I recommend you bring better ones.

I'm kidding of course. They weren't a pair of Swarovski ELs, but they were better than average.

They are more like opera glasses.  To really see, find and follow something like a bird, you need better ones.  To spy into your neighbors cabin around the veranda petition, they are fine.  Just kidding.

Good to know! We noticed they are included in our cabin, but we didn't think we'd really need them anyway. And now that I've read this, I realize we shouldn't count on them either. LOL!

IMO....it's just a sales pitch item for a higher category of cabin.

Was on Orion in Alaska this past June and my  100 - 400 mm zoom lens on my camera was far better.  We were booked in a PV cabin. Not only were the binoculars powerful but they also had fingerprints on all the optical elements which does not help. Bring your own.
