I often see a pit boss with a clip board, and as they walk around the pit observing the games, they would make notes on it. I have always assumed that's how they track play. When I was on the reflection at the end of December I asked the casino host and Casio manager while playing if they are tracking my bets. Alex the casino manager told me all the celebrity casino tables have the microchips installed to track play. I wonder what others have heard and seen while playing tables? And how does that associate any particular bet with the individual player? Especially when the chips are reissued during play to the winners of each hand. makes no sense to me whatsoever. I sometimes switch between playing one hand and two hands at BJ and each time I change from playing one circle to two or two circles to one, dealer inputs what betting circles are or are not being played by me prior to dealing. Yes this is true. We were once tracked down on a back to back sailing because my husband didn’t cash his chips out after first week and the casino knew he still had black chips and they wanted it back lol

I would 100% with that. That would require quite sophisticated software which I highly doubt Celebrity ships possess. There's currently no land based casino's that have RFID casino chips use them to track players betting in that way YET. https://casino.betmgm.com/en/blog/why-casinos-use-chips-cash/#:~:text=Thanks to RFID technology%2C a,sneak in last-minute bets. Rare DaKahuna Posted February 11, 2023 #110 Share Posted February 11, 2023 How the casino works is a mystery to me. We've played slots and video poker and see our points but I do not recall ever seeing any points for my table play, normally roulette. I have an idea that the points for table play are not based on how much you wager but rather on how many chips you buy. On our last cruise I played for four hours with my initial $100 buy, betting $6 a spin on a $5 minimum table. The only time I saw the croupier punch anything into the little 'box' to his/her left was when money exchanged hands.

Table “coin in” and “cash outl helps them estimate how lost/gained, generally at all casinos the pit boss enters you first couple bets amounts in and periodically validates the amount and in X’s case the pitbosses use iPads. Often those who bet progressively get screwed

I would have bet my $100 he could not tell me what my play was at any point. Guess I'll just continue to do what I do as I am not a big player anyway and don't think I have ever qualified for more than the base blue chip level. While pit bosses enter/validate your play their system doesn’t display what you’re currently rated. Only the host can tell you or occasionally a pit boss can act as a liaison by obtaining your current tier points from the host. I’ve had hosts tell me they will provide only current tier points on the last night, not sooner
Andrewgary Posted February 11, 2023 #114 Share Posted February 11, 2023 I mostly play poker but sometimes head over to the craps table. I hate being rated because I feel I will subconsciously try to "impress" the pit boss into giving me a comp and I'll maybe raise my bets accordingly. I just stick to my $10 pass line bet with double odds and maybe place a couple of inside numbers. As for them rating me at poker, I know that doesn't happen so it's not an issue. Pit-bosses honestly don’t care what you bet, you can’t even impress them with your betting amounts if you wanted to. I’ve had one in Vegas tell me the more they bet, the higher the odds they are of being a problem/difficult/aggressive when they lose and they hate that as their negative vibe can scare others away

While this can be true in some casinos, this isn’t the case on X. They told me they’re “ordered” to rate as accurately as possible and have no flexibility to fudge their numbers…Pit-bosses are generally personable, you can ask them a lot of things about ratings and they’re generally happy to chat with you With that being said, start your bets high while the pit boss is around then when they leave lower your bet; raise again when you see them come back 2

I am Amethyst and my husband is Sapphire. We have 7 comped cruises in Aqua this year including 2 to Europe for 10 and 12 days. The Future Cruise desk on board will tell you how many cruises you have available to book and they are happy to book them for you. I apologize that this is a little off topic. I made Sapphire tier my last cruise, and I have a question (many, actually, but I will just ask one😁) about the free classic drink package that Sapphire tier receives. Is the package automatically loaded on your husband’s sail and sign card or is there a different procedure? I am sailing on Beyond next week. Thank you for any info you can share. Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted February 28, 2023 #120 Share Posted February 28, 2023 So glad this thread popped back up as I embark this weekend with a new lease on strategy in the casino. Can’t wait to report out on our comps in March 😍 I learned too! Although, if I only play about 300 say 7 out of 11 nights, black jack, win or lose some, would I be wasting my time asking for the host to do this? Do they have a name tag that says host, usually how many on each ship? Thanks

Thanks I was refering to the accrued casino comp.that.yoy ask the host towards the end of the cruise to see if they can offset any spending onboard. As mention by Georgia peaches It's something else. On Celebrity you earn onboard comps that must be used by the end of the cruise. There's no way of knowing how much you've earned unless you speak to the casino host on the LAST day of your cruise. They will tell you how much accrued comps you have earned which can be used to offset onboard charges from the spa, specialty restaurants, bar bill (not gratuities),excursions, gift shop purchases. The reason we wait until we know what the amount is before buying anything is we want the lowest bill possible, so we wait until we know what amount we can spend. Of course if I want to go to the spa for a treatment or we do want to go to a specialty restaurant we'll just put it on our account and let the casino host offset it Edited March 1, 2023 by FeelingCruisy

If you are Sapphire, your drinks and wifi may or may not be loaded in advance, I have had it both ways. One cruise it was already on my card (showed CALL) and an option when I set up wifi (select the casino coupon option). Other cruises it was not on yet and I had to go to front desk to get it added. Make sure your express pass shows Sapphire and then go to front desk and they add the drink package no problem and then you go to the internet guy, normally set up by the front desk on the first day, to get the wifi added (if it is not). I suggest setting up your wifi account (create the log in), but not selecting a package if you don't see the casino coupon option, as in my experience the internet guy needs the account set up to add the casino wifi package for you. Also, yes, you can upgrade to premium, either with the casino host (who I have heard may give you a discount, but I have never tried) or with any bartender. The casino host is usually the one who will MC the slot pulls and tournaments. They generally walk around but you can ask at the cage who the host is if you don't see anyone doing such things. As far as the comps go, I have no idea. This is new territory for me but I will definitely ask about it at the end of the cruise. No harm in asking.
