dcsam Posted February 20, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2023 It’s been several years since we’ve cruised with HAL. We’re considering booking a Neptune Suite aboard the Volendam. I read that ia Neptune gives access to ‘Club Orange’. What is CO? Also, there may be times when we decide to have dinner in the cabin - what are the options (ie, only from the main restaurant, specialty)? Thank you. CruiserBruce Posted February 20, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2023 Have you looked around the board...there are many threads on Club Orange. Yes, Neptune Suite automatically gets you Club Orange. Talk to the Neptune Lounge Concierge about dining in your room. They will give you the options available and the set up issues...it can be a little different on each ship.
Rare 0106 Posted February 20, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2023 There is no dedicated CO dining room on the Volendam. Just an extra entree on the MDR menu. You can order food off the MDR menu to be served in your room for free. Meals from specialty restaurants can be ordered for a fee. Your concierge can assist.
OlsSalt Posted February 21, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2023 Club Orange (CO) allows passengers to buy some, but not all, the perks offered to Neptune Suite passengers. Each ship has a different package and value, but on a smaller ship like the Volendam it may not be enough value added for the surcharge. And certainly not if you are booking a Neptune. Club Orange really earns its keep on the new and larger Pinnacle Class ships (Konigsdam etc) if you want a more intimate and personalized experience among the larger crowds and larger venues.

You don’t need to buy club orange for the Neptune suite. It’s included with the Neptune.

I doubt if anyone buys a Neptune for the club orange on any ship.
DaveOKC Posted February 21, 2023 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2023 IMO, HAL should offer the CO deal for a reduced price on the non-Pinnacle class ships, as they do not have a CO dining area. On our recent Eurodam and NA cruises, very few people seemed to have purchased CO (never saw anyone in the various CO lines).
oaktreerb Posted February 21, 2023 #9 Share Posted February 21, 2023 On the older ships Club Orange will provide a separate line for the open dining option so if there is a line at the MDR, you will have priority in being seated, You will have a separate line for the Guest Services and Excursions desk onboard. You will have an enhanced in-room dining menu for breakfast with fresh orange juice complimentary. The Neptune Suite booking will allow you to have breakfast in the Pinnacle Grill on the non-Pinnacle class ships (unless things have changed) and all other Club Orange privileges. oaktreerb Posted February 21, 2023 #10 Share Posted February 21, 2023 Club Orange will also get you priority embarkation and disembarkation. So will Neptune Suite.
