Accessible staterooms

Has anyone found a website that will show available accessible cabins?  Some of the cruiseline websites, and most of the TA websites, don’t have a place to indicate that you’re looking for only accessible cabins.

No, this is why we only book using a TA or book on board at the Next Cruise desk and then transfer it to our TA. We also have to book at least a year ahead to get an accessible room.

It is against rules to name Travel Agency linked on this Site. Great Question though for a non-TA Websites

Have you tried to use the Cruise Critic site to do so? If not, you might try to click on "Find a Cruise" at the top. Then click "Advanced Search" Then at the right click on the drop-down menu called "Cruise Style" Choose "Cruises for the disabled". I have no experience as to what that may give you. Just trying to give you a possible answer.

Also this article, on Cruise Critic, makes reference to a travel agency that may be able to help. Read the article carefully. It is mentioned in the Tenders section.

Royal Caribbean's own website can show you accessible cabins that are available for booking for each sailing.    As you work through the main website to price a cruise, it asks how many rooms you require, then how many people, and just below that there is a box that you can tick to show accessible cabins only.

 

Either than or most Travel Agents will be able to look on their system to find accessible cabins, but they can get booked very quickly, since there are not a  lot of them

Part of the problem is that Royal does not require any type of doctor form or proof of actual need of a accessible cabin. There is a form but its never really insisted upon on according to Royal staff. Unfortunately people search and book these larger cabins quickly upon availability with no accessible need. It's a shame but it happens.

Carnival also allows you to look for accessible cabins. Royal just opened up booking on the Odyssey from Cape Liberty. I booked 4 cruises from 11/24 through 03/25. That's how early you need to book for those cabins.

Yes....you have to book VERY early then risk having to pay the change fee if your plans change.

 

Almost no chance to book inside of 6 months.......

Or you can book a refundable deposit.  Many of the accessible cabins are also in categories that are offered in group space and can be booked directly inside of a group with a refundable deposit

We are looking over a year in advance.  There used to be a website that showed ALL available cabins, but it’s gone now.  We have been in accessible cabins for probably 10 years now.  But this is the first time we weren’t able to find ANY. But our itinerary makes it more difficult.  Unfortunately, we can’t cruise without a wheelchair.  Thanks for the tips.

Royal is notorious for not showing all accessible staterooms. I was looking for October 2024 accessible balcony ocean view. It only showed 2 available on the 14th floor. I ended up going with a travel agent and there were more on 3 different floors.

 

You can also email the accessible department and they can tell you what is available or call the main number for booking. Good luck.

Use a TA, They use a much more user friendly booking engine for Royals site and can quickly find accessible staterooms
