Meet and mingle help for Mar 18 sailing

Has anyone else had trouble linking up for Above cruise.I was unable to register until I typed  ( Meet and Mingle  Azasmara ) into the search engine..believe other people must have had trouble as there are now only 8 people confirmed .

I was about to ask about M & M's - does AZA set them up?

They set up a room and usually drinks. They used to be hosted by the Cruise Director, but haven’t been since lockdown.

This last one on Onward in Dec., no drinks.  
No CD or anyone came.  We went to the bar for drinks.  In fact, someone contacted the CD and requested a microphone, but there was not one there.  All there was was a space provided in the card room and a notice in newsletter.  Held on day of embarkation,

We still had a good time and a large turnout because it had been organized and promoted on our roll call.

The M&M takemewithyou mentioned is one I attended. She is far too modest to tell you that she handled the roll call and got everyone's names, made beautiful name tags, and helped introduce people who attended. The space Azamara gave us was the area on deck 10 starboard where people play bridge and board games.  When we arrived, there was a family playing a board game. It's a less-than-ideal ( OK terrible) place for a group to get together because everyone has to try to circulate around the tables. People did their best to introduce themselves.

 

Because it was a very active roll call, there were lots of people who wanted to meet each other. This is a far cry from the wonderful M&Ms that used to be held in the Library. Many ship's officers attended, people had a chance to introduce themselves to the group in an organized way, drinks and hors d'oeuvres were served, and we were made to feel welcome and valued.

 

Oh the good old days on Azamara.

Same on our January Onward cruise. Scheduled at 5:15 on embarkation day in the card room in the Living Room. No drinks or staff and only around six of us showed out of the over twenty who had signed up.

IMO the 5:15 is not a good time. I would have wanted more time enjoying sail-away and the Miami skyline and South Beach. Feel it should be held first sea day but then folks would lose their pool side loungers on a sunny day.

On our October Quest cruise the M &M was in half of the Drawing room. There were drinks but no officer attendance or microphone. It was well attended and people circulated and talked to each other.
