latebuyer Posted March 5, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2023 Does anyone know if at&t works in alaska in the cruise ports (juneau, ketchikan, sitka) I’m canadian and was thinking of getting an at&t prepaid phone card.
wolfie11 Posted March 5, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2023 ATT was the original cell service in Alaska along with local provider GCI. I have had it for around 20 years. It's the best provider for Alaska IMO. You get good service in all the ports and at several places at sea where there are nearby towers. I also get free service in Canada and Mexico.

lobsternight Posted March 5, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2023 We are Canadian and have an AT&T pay as you go phone for when we are in the States. Have always had good service in all the Alaska cruise ports. Sometimes have even got moderate service between ports
Northern Aurora Posted March 5, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2023 This Alaskan also has ATT & T. We ave never tried it at sea, but have good coverage in ports.
Ashland Posted March 5, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2023 My AT&T works great in Alaska port stops. On the ship I put my iPhone on airplane mode and activate wifi calling and can talk and text to my family back home. I do also buy the Voom internet pkg. from RCI. Our beloved dog developed, of all things, vertigo (vestibular). We were calling our vet in Fairbanks from every port, and the connection was perfect. Our dog had the same issue back in 2014...I totally understand. She recovered about 90% for another 2 years.
