Rare cruisemom42 Posted March 7, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2023 It seems HAL is now closing all bars on their ships at midnight. Granted, the line is not known for late-night partying, but that seems really early when one is on vacation and wanting to enjoy a nice evening onboard ship. It made me curious as to how late bars stay open on other lines? I'm a bit of a night owl, but not necessarily the "last call" person. I don't recall ever having a problem finding an open bar on X as late as 1:00 or 1:30 am, but now am wondering if other lines are cutting back hours as well? AmberCascades Posted March 7, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Can't say about recently, but in the past some closed at midnight and there were a couple that were open "late". I'm assuming the martini bar and sky lounge. They probably stay open as long as there is a reasonable demand (i.e. I don't know if they would stay open till 4:00 a.m. for a lone barfly lol). Jeremiah1212 Posted March 7, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2023 The bars with a designated closing time in the daily planner close at that time. Anything that says 'open late' will stay open as long as there are people there until 2am-ish in my experience.

There are bars that close at 11 and midnight. Others will be listed as "late" which probably means if there are customers buying drinks, they will remain open. For how long, I am not sure. Hours are listed in Celebrity Today.
Rare cruisemom42 Posted March 7, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted March 7, 2023 What about in the casino? Does it stay open later (and is the bar open there)? I don't have access to the dailies at the moment, just looking to get an idea of hours....
Chanbre Posted March 7, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2023 My August 2022 dailies from the Shilouette show: Ensemble (deck 5) and Sky (deck 14) open until 1am; Casino and Martini (both deck 4) open until "late". We never tested what "late" actually means! Most other inside bars are shown as closing at midnight.

My immediate reaction to your post was this: HAL? Don't they have casinos on board? How could a casino bar possibly shut down at midnight? I suppose their DJ/dance party timings could be adjusted, so the parties all wrap up at midnight. But are HAL's casinos going to close at midnight, too? Unlike Celebrity, maybe there is just no one up late on their ships. I can't see Celebrity moving in this direction.
randomcruise Posted March 7, 2023 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2023 I was on the Beyond in Feb., and the casino tended to shut down between 11:30 and 1:00 am and the Craft Social Bar next to the casino tended to shut down at the same time. The Club was always open after that.

I asked under a different thread but can’t remember which one to find if it was answered, but I was wondering what the shows have been like and nightlife on Beyond. We will be on in May. Are reservations required for shows? Is there a piano bar?
randomcruise Posted March 7, 2023 #10 Share Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) I really liked the production shows in Eden and in the Theater, and heard that the Jazz production show in the Club was also good. The Eden shows start late and you need to get there at least 30 minutes early to get a good seat. Eden tended to clear out pretty quick after the end of a production show. I like playing the cash Texas Hold'em, which doesn't start until 9:30 pm. I played several nights until they closed the casino (again closing varied from 11:30 to about 1:00am) and the Grand Plaza was always pretty dead after by the time the Casino closed. The Club always seemed to have a dedicated late-night/early morning crowd after the casino closed, but I think that was the only venue that was still open. Rare prmssk Posted March 7, 2023 #11 Share Posted March 7, 2023 In November on the Constellation, the Sunset Bar listed a closing time of 1am. Rendezvous, Cellar Masters, and Cafe al Bacio listed closing times of midnight. The Casino Bar, Reflections, and Martini Bar listed a closing time of Late. I can't say I am ever up that late so have never tested any of these times or know what "late" is in practice (I catch most sunrises on a cruise and need some sleep). Rare DCPIV Posted March 8, 2023 #12 Share Posted March 8, 2023 "Late" is around 1 or so. If things are really hopping, they may go a little later. Please keep in mind that these bartenders work at other bars and very long days at it is. You can always get a nightcap (or two) to go.
Rare irvington Posted March 8, 2023 #13 Share Posted March 8, 2023 This is helpful to me. I'm a night owl too, with a siesta on sea days. I actually don't mind getting up early but my natural rhythm is to stay up late. My only Celebrity cruise was right after the restart, and it was amazing, but I felt like I was the only person out at 11. I don't want to oppress the staff, but on my cruise this summer it would be nice to know which venue tends to have folks who are out later. I'm not tying a major one on, I just like to be up and out at 12 or 1. Thanks for this thread!

Would be best to check the Celebrity App - I was looking at Apex and many are open to Midnight but The Club and Martini Bare are showing 2:00 AM
