I use it every time it's offered on board and have never set it up in advance. Strange, though, you get an error; seems you should be able to do it in advance if the port and airline participates.

Is your airline one that participates? Not all airlines do.

Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!

Must be a glitch somewhere. I'll just do it when they offer in on board. We're flying DL.

We just got off the Eurodam in Ft Lauderdale on Oct 28th 2023.

We took advantage of the Luggage Direct program - it was wonderful.

The ship delivered the Luggage Direct Program information with sign-up form about 5 days before disembarkment.

The Fees were as follows:

$25 PP

Then an additional $30 for the first bag of each passenger and $40 for the second bag.  Any bag over 2 charged at $100 or was it $150? - can't remember that price as we only had 3 bags total.  There was no weight limit on each bag for this program.

As a previous poster stated - if you had "free baggage" privileges with your airline you provided that information on your Luggage Direct paperwork to avoid the baggage fees.

There were only a "selected" group of airlines that you had to be using (ours was United Airlines) & our flight could not be earlier than 11:30am.

I believe only Ft Lauderdale airport could be used.

We had to agree to an early Dis-embarkment (ours was 7:30 am - our flight 12:20pm)

You'll get a "package" the day before dis-embarkment.

In it was our luggage tags,

Instructions on time for dis-embarkment & where to wait.

There was also 2" diameter tickets inside the packet for our Free Luggage Direct Transfer to Ft Lauderdale airport that was included in this service.

Albeit - no one asked for these tickets - they just directed us where to go as we stated we were Luggage Direct passengers leaving the terminal.

Having our boarding passes in hand as we got off the ship with NO luggage other than a small case for Ipad etc was wonderful.  My husband was having back issues so we took advantage of curbside wheelchair service (right at curb where Transfer bus unloaded).  Then my husband was wheeled & we were escorted directly thru Security & up to the Gate.  Wonderful service.

Just used it, Luggage Direct, on Nieuw Amsterdam, FFL to LGA, $25 a bag. We were happy to see the service offered as in past years we used with no problem. However a cautionary tale. First flight must be after 11:30 am ours was 11:31so okay. Signed up onboard required by like 3rd day. Noted that although boarding pass was correct the luggage tag listed a flight # that had been changed long before and new flight # was provided. Went to guest services and inquired, desk person took to Supervisor who alleged checked and said was not a problem airline would correct! WRONG !

We arrived in NY at 2:50 pm in NY no luggage. Delta new terminal had luggage claim office right by luggage. Quickly checked and advised our luggage would be arriving at 6pm. They took information and advised that Delta would deliver it to my home the next morning, a Sunday. I had doubts but what can you do. Delta was great, provided me texts and tracking of our luggage and at 10 am courier called said he was at the door, AND YEAH so was my luggage, and on a Sunday.

Technically worked out well even better since delivered right to our door. But concerns, and time to  claim lost luggage while car service arriving for us was an adrenalin moment. Fortunately even car service was delayed due to traffic accident delays so no wait time charges needed.

Would I use it again , probably yes if the paperwork was all correct. If paperwork was wrong or questionable on ship I would do it the old fashioned way.

George in NY for what it is worth !

I just used Luggage Direct in Fort Lauderdale and it was wonderful.   The cost was $25. for the luggage pick up and checking it in at the airport, they also printed by boarding pass and checked me in for my flight.  I also had to pay the $19.00 for the transfer to the airport, and the $30.00 to the airlines for the checked bag fee. So for a total of $74.00 paid by OBC was so great for me.  Did not have to deal with lugging my suitcase until I got to my final destination.  I will use this service again the next time I fly.

It was free in Seattle this summer. They were offering a promotion to get people to use it. A great deal!
