Great post, thanks!  We will be there in January 2024 and looking at one of the Resort Pass resorts.  Is it easy to arrange for transportation or a cab?

Thank you for these suggestions!  We plan to stay all day at the Taino Bay aqua park and take advantage of the lazy river and pools.

What a great job you did by informing us of all things near Amber Cove.  We booked a Carnival tour to see the cigar, rum and chocolate factories in 2 weeks.  We enjoyed the Amber Cove water park at the port last year and it was wonderful so we just wanted to see more of the Dominican life.  I've been to Punta Cana a number of times and truly love the country and its people.

We did it last year (Oct). Lots of police / military present as crossing guards.  Very safe feeling walking from port and around the downtown area (two 60+ yo women).
