What are the things you ''NEVER'' do on a cruise that other people like.

I’ve done a few of these and finally learned my lesson.

I love graphic tees and will be wearing mine during the day.

Is everyone welcome if there is a Shabbat service?

My son in law had never cruised and wasn’t comfortable with the large table so last cruise way back in 2019 was just the four of us and this one will be, too. It’s a Thanksgiving one.

Joining in on the fun of listing my 'never' list.

  • Never book a ocean view/balcony/suite. Only Interiors here-- spend less, cruise more :)
  • Never sail with children or friends with children. Personal preference. Sorry, not sorry.
  • Never attend or purchase art on a cruise.
  • Never attend shore excursions or port shopping information sessions.
  • Never settle for base gratuities for primary crew members. (Cabin attendant, MDR waiters, favorite bartender.)
  • Never forget to take photos of Crew member name tags that provide exceptional service.
  • Never select late dinner service.
  • Never swim in the main pool.
  • .Never sit in a deck lounge chair.
  • Never miss an opportunity to laugh at Day 2 'Sunburn Lobbers'.
  • Never miss a game of trivia. I'm a birdbrain, but I love it 🙂
  • Never miss a stage production by the Royal singers & dancers. Always an amazing & talented group!
  • Never have 'Main Character Syndrome' just because I'm on vacation.

What is "Main Character Syndrome?"    Would that be, "All About Me?"  Just curious, I've never heard that expression.  😃

Lets see here...

  • Rarely have used room service. I would much rather get out of bed, walk, and have the breakfast buffet. In fact, during my last cruise, because there was a Indian presence, I got to try out of some Indian breakfast foods at the breakfast buffet.
  • Never drink coffee.
  • Rarely go to the casino. If I want to lose my money, I can go up to the world's largest casino (in terms of floor space) at Thackerville, OK.
  • Never purchased anything on the on-board art auctions.
  • Rarely have a alcohol drink. I prefer the no-proof drink package.
  • Rarely watch television in my room. I prefer to download the media to my tablet or phone and watch it poolside with some headphones or earbuds.

Yes, they are about the same.

Main Character Syndrome is when a person or people imagine themselves as the main character in a movie.

Symptoms include:

  • The inability to view oneself as anything other than the main character of one’s own life.
  •  A lack of empathy for anyone seen as a supporting character in your narrative (friends, coworkers, family members).
  • An overinflated sense of self-importance and entitlement on account of playing such a lead role in one’s own life story.
  • Excessive fantasizing and daydreaming about one’s heroic exploits.
  • A chronic need for external validation to feel like the main character of one’s life is living up to expectations.

I say this lightheartedly and totally not to argue, but how are we not the main characters in our own lives?
