Coming to y’all live from Lady G!!!

Security and Check in was a breeze, being suites guests helps with that significantly. From van drop off to ship took 10 minutes. My mom momentarily misplaced her passport, that was a harrowing experience but otherwise all went well.

Our staterooms will be available around 1/130pm so after lunch in Chops we will head to the room to check it out.

Ice cream machines operating with an assistant, very nice lady. image.thumb.jpg.6e234da33f6374ecb640c03fadcf5d67.jpg

Happy kids. Happy mom.

Grand Suites are my favorite cabin type when sailing with my kids. Two sinks. Plenty of elbow room. We are having the bed split tonight and my son is happy to take the couch, he says he doesn’t want it changed to a bed but we will see about that.

We are LOVING Lady G, she might be my new favorite.

The ship is in beautiful condition, of course some wear and tear but nothing that would truly bother me. The crew are all friendly and happy, truly a wonderful home atmosphere.

Rum Old Fashioned after an amazing dinner in Giovanni’s.

The night is young ❤️😆

Love the suite pictures, lots of room.  I also thought Lady G was beautiful and in great shape.  She is a favorite of mine.  She has that older classic look to her which I think is just beautiful.  The outside covered, but open Promenade is my favorite deck on her and the ships that have it.  Enjoy.

We are truly loving Lady G. I see Why so many cruisers love her. Beautiful covered promenade and classic feel. Honestly, everyone we have encountered has loved being here and that’s a huge compliment to the ship. She might be our new go to ship.

I’m glad to hear such great reports from you about Grandeur! Are you planning on going to any of the shows? We have really enjoyed the shows on the Oasis class ships that we’ve been sailing recently. I know that the Grandeur’s shows won’t be quite what we’ve seen on the Oasis class ships. There’s no AquaTheater, after all, on Grandeur, but I’m hoping we’ll still be well entertained. Any information would be much appreciated.

We will be on the Grandeur in July in GS 1 br 8506 so following along as I believe my room is close to yours.  We were on the Grandeur out of Barbados in December/January 2021/22.  Nicest staff other than maybe the Celebrity summit.

We will probably hit up shows on our sea days but we usually don’t go to the shows but as the kids get older they find them more enjoyable than they used to.

Greetings from Key West!!

The ship docks literally steps away from some of the more popular attractions in Key West.

We walked to Hemingway’s house (.8 miles) and did the tour. $18 per adult I do not remember what kids pricing was (I know the ages were 6-12). They ONLY TAKE CASH so heads up there.

He even has the infamous 6 toes. ❤️

We had lunch at First Flight Brewery on our walk back. It was decent food, little pricey but that’s also to be expected.

My daughter is terrified of birds. Needless to say outdoor lunch with free range chickens was not her idea of fun.

After Dinner my 5 and 7 yr olds enjoyed Kids Program. I'd throw my 2-3yr old in PJs and we'd go to Show's sitting on side/balcony. Was Single Parent, just 3 of us... Love the thread and Pics, keep them coming

We did a land trip to Grand Cayman a few ears ago and had dinner one night on an outdoor patio. There were chickens 🐓 🐓 🐓 everywhere. I felt a little guilty eating the delicious dinner that I ordered which was 🐓chicken! 🤣

Good morning y’all!!

Sorry for the delay! WiFi was iffy last night. Back on target today though.

Last night was low key for our family. The walk to Hemingways and the Sun exhausted everyone. We had dinner in MDR and it was Mexican night. Dinner was delicious!! The quality of food has been wonderful, but we are also not Michelin star diners so there is that. I hate an Applebee’s but I love a local fine option.

Coffee on the balcony and breakfast at chops. Day at sea today.

Workout complete. Lunch at Izumi’s next.

The ship has not felt crowded at all. The pool is hectic today, but that is to be expected. We are a quiet group, so we are hanging out in the solarium.

Hopefully Wi-Fi sticks around better today and I can keep updating.

Such an awesome review so far and I loved your packing pics!

Looking forward to your updates; as you disembark, we sail off on lady G this coming Friday for a 9-Night Caribbean itinerary. I'm sailing with my husband and twin little girls who are looking forward to the daily kids adventure corner. My father in also joining us on his very first cruise. I figured give him an experience on a smaller ship and hype-up the girls before our Icon experience in July 2024.

What are the shows like on Lady G? Live band by the pool keeping it tropical?

Have blast and keep the pictures coming 😉

I'm trying to understand how the Taste of Mexico menu is half items that aren't Mexican. 🤔

it seems generally Mexican-ish to me at the top?  Most of the "theme" menus are spotlight on the top, a little "influence" on about half of the other stuff......

I'm just coming in late for your live thread.  I see you're flew in from DCA, which makes you a local to me.  Saturday night was insane.  Not sure when you flew out, but at about 8 or 9pm, it really got bad for us north of DC in Silver Spring.  The high wind warnings were up till 1am.

I've did a live thread on Grandeur back in 2018 when she sailed out of Baltimore and have sailed on her a total of 4 times.  Its weird thinking that you had to fly to board Grandeur.  I'll be following along.

Of course, gifts are never anticipated, but they are always appreciated. Technically, you are not supposed to give flight attendants cash however, we always need dollar bills for hotel van tips so I threw some in there for them.

I’ve been flying for nearly a half century, has never crossed my mind to tip a FA.  😵 thot on that for a hot minute.   my excuse is, I guess that I consider them professionals vs a tip able position. Thanks for putting up with us lol

never heard of that brand of luggage.  When I noticed majority of crews on lines we frequent rolling Travelpro brand, figured that was a good endorsement. We’ve been beating them for 5 years and still function @ look great

enjoy your trip!

You guys will have a blast!! My kids have really had a great time but they are older so they have been ala cart style with Adventure Ocean.

We honestly haven’t seen any shows and the shows haven’t really been offered. Last night was a Comedian but no dance/show numbers. The bands have been fantastic. Caribbean band by the main pool, modern/classic band in Centrum. Violinist and guitar duo, pianist and singer in Schooner on different evenings.

The STAFF are INCREDIBLE. Everyone has been friendly, hardworking and happy. It’s such a breath of fresh air.

Have fun next week!!!
