Bermuda at night

For those NCL cruises (Pearl - May) that stay in Bermuda on Sunday and Monday night (at the Naval shipyard), do you go off the ship saying 7pm to midnight?  Is many places open that late or ferry?

Not much to do ashore. Normally the public ferry ends around 6 pm (except on Harbor Festival night - which you will miss). When we were there in October, the crew seemed to know where to go at night.

We did the evening pirate boat and rum excursion and the next night did the evening catamaran and rum shore excursion.  I think it rained but I had so much rum I don’t really remember.

The Frog and Onion pub on the Dockyard grounds is a decent place to go if you like that type of atmosphere.

If you're looking for nightlife, and not the very limited bit that's in the Dockyard, you'll need to head to Hamilton mainly on Front Street. There are a bunch of bars there open late that are frequented by both locals and crew. Also you'll have more upscale options at hotels like the Hamilton Princess that always has a fun bar into the later hours. Same with headed over towards St Georges-- the bars at the hotels like the Rosewood and St Regis are open later but that's a trek back to the Dockyard without the ferry. Just know that you'll be dependent on taxis to get you back later in the evening.

Know there is not a lot open and or much to do after 6PM...I don't understand why the ships casions can't open up earlier than 9PM.

Because they have to pay Bermuda government to open.

Under an amendment to the law in 2021 cruise lines can apply for extended hours while in port at Bermuda but I suspect there is a significant additional cost to doing so.

Which means NCL will never do it. I would think they'd want people to hang out drinking and spending money in the ship's casino.

Casino I'd agree-- but with everyone on a drinks package it might be better to get them off the ship for a bit too.

True....but I wonder how many people opted for the drink package. If you are a casual drinker then it's not worth the price of the "service charge" you have to pay. In any event....I am hoping they extended the hours.

Are taxis readily available at the Dockyard and on Front Street (or at other venues)?

Not at night at the Dockyard and in recent years its become more difficult to get a taxi almost everywhere.
