Cruisin4aBruisin73 Posted April 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2023 (edited) I'd love some information on the Loft 19 cabanas. We're sailing Dec 24th and I think this could be my Christmas present to myself. There doesn't seem to be a way to look at them on the website. Has anybody rented one? Is it yours the entire cruise? The idea of a shaded area all to myself that I NEVER have to jostle for position of or move towels, etc..... makes me soooooo happy. Are there any other perks if you do rent one? If you've done this, do you have pictures? Thanks a bunch Edited April 12, 2023 by Cruisin4aBruisin73

They become bookable for non excel suite guests about a month out. It was a special of 1750 for the week plus 18 percent gratuity. You get a bottle of champagne, 6 bottled waters, complimentary virgin smoothies, fresh fruit daily. They have towels and robes and they will bring you lunch in the cabana. They have a hot tub up there that isn’t crazy hot. I would book again in a heartbeat!

This may have tipped me over the edge of YES! Especially the champagne. One more question- are kids allowed? Great staff, excellent service, very expensive, be sure to tip the hard working crew. Edited April 12, 2023 by Moparfiend
Moparfiend Posted April 12, 2023 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2023 This is the Mardi Gras, but similar enough. The view from the sofa is amazing, we spent most days hanging out here as we rented multiple cabana's (big family trip)
lesters Posted April 12, 2023 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2023 I think its been asked and answered but with the live thread - can these be booked for a day? I'm guessing that's an "on the ship" gamble.

I'm guessing that's an "on the ship" gamble. It supposedly has been sold out for the entire week all through spring break. I know they were all booked up about 2 weeks before our April 1st cruise. I believe you could have luck renting for 1 day in the off season but if your cruise is close to being sold out I would not wait if it is something you want. My husband hates crowds and this area alone helped alleviate the dread he had about such a large ship.

We only had an ocean suite and were able to book about a month before our spring break cruise. Excel guests get access to the area without paying for a cabana and there were plenty of loungers for them without paying more. Personally I would not spurge on a cabana if I already had an excel suite.
Rare TravelBluebird Posted April 12, 2023 #11 Share Posted April 12, 2023 I am seriously considering booking a Loft 19 cabana next year on the Jubilee for a week because we have a big group, 10 people, but I can’t seem to find a definitive answer as to whether you can bring different members of your party to the cabana on different days, as long as you don’t go over 5 people at a time. If it has to be the same 5 people each time, it won’t make any sense, and we don ‘t want//need 2 cabanas. If anyone has had actual experience with this, either yea or nay, I’d love to hear about it! UGACamper Posted April 12, 2023 #12 Share Posted April 12, 2023 Where would cabanas be in your planner if they were available for purchase?
Rare lazydayz Posted April 13, 2023 #13 Share Posted April 13, 2023 Never seen them in the planner. Once they are available to book, there was a banner on my cruise page. Love the Cabanas for the peace and quiet, shade and great service. While we tip a little extra, remember you have already tipped the Loft 19 staff over $250 when you rent the cabana for week. And we did a dollar per drink when ordering beverages. And you get champagne everyday you use the cabana. Mimosa anyone?

We were able to on Mardis Gras last week. The attendants were super. The teens never hung out but they were allowed to come up. We actually had 6 a few time while we exchanged the wristbands. . But we never abused it. Not sure if this is typical? 6 actually makes more sense per cabana.

I wish it were 6 because then the older adults could all be together…it’s like 2 couples and an extra otherwise. But we can work it out if we can vary who’s in the cabana.

There is no age minimum that I could tell.
lassie21 Posted August 24, 2023 #18 Share Posted August 24, 2023 Thanks for all the information on renting the loft 19 cabanas. If you had to choose one of the numbered cabanas, what would you recommend - just two adults ? Looking at booking this for the Celebration. Appreciate your input!

Appreciate your input! 4 & 9 are closest to the pool/hot tub. 10 & 12 are across a walkway and face the pool/hot tub across an open area. Fewer people are over in that section. 5 is probably the most private. There is loft 19 map on the website in the picture section of where you book the cabanas
Rare lazydayz Posted August 27, 2023 #21 Share Posted August 27, 2023 We always book number 12. You can easily see if the warm tub is occupied and you are right by the service bar so very quick with your drink orders. Plus the bar is a great wind break. You do have one neighbor but that hasn’t been much of an issue. One time, our neighbor snuck in some extras but the staff quickly escorted them out. Only 3 cabanas were reserved for the week, so, we became pretty close to the 5 Loft 19 staff members. They told us the 18% gratuity added to your cabana rental goes into the general grat fund, just like your cruise grats. It does NOT go to just the Loft 19 staff. Between the regular gratuity and the Loft 19 one, we are about $500 in tips for the week. Add in the per drink $1 and probably at $550, then a little extra for the cabin steward, the dining teams, and the Loft 19 attendants and we are over $700 in tips. No wonder Carnival sends me “free” cruise offers.. lol 😝 1

I discovered last time (the hard way) that, in that cabana at least, there's enough sun coming from overhead to get quite the sunburn on the top of your head - thanks to diminished natural SPF (hair) up there!!
