We put two bags of laundry through the wash & fold this cruise.  Both were under clothes, t-shirts, shorts, and socks.  Everything came back just fine.  I think we have only had one time where we had a couple of pink formerly white t-shirts come back but it’s not a problem. I tend to pack older undershirts in case something happens and if’s is bad enough, I just throw them away.

If we have items that need to be handled carefully, we pay for those separately.

Good morning, DaKahuna.  If you don't mind, I would appreciate it if you would post today's Celebrity Today when the time allows.  I hope you enjoy your sea day!  Looking forward to more dolphin shots although a whale would be mighty nice.

Sorry I thought I had done that last night but looks like I did not, once again.

Once again, thank you for doing that.  BTW, I guess you will have a chance to see the USS Iowa when you dock at San Pedro.  I didn't realize that she was there.  I imagine that Iowa is not allowed to have an area on the ship named the "Retreat" or anything like that.

So the ship's clock is still one hour ahead of LA?  Or did I miss something?

Anyway, have a nice sea day and May the 4th be with you!

Oh, there is a Retreat alright, but I haven't heard of a Navy anywhere in the world that allows its sailors as much comfort as the cruise industry. I guess the crew is enjoying the fruits of Southern California for the time being.

Iowa was decommissioned over 20 years ago so there shouldn't be a crew to enjoy any fruits.  She did a few canal cruises back in her day though:

What is she doing these days? Can the public get on board? In that case, I might stay in port a bit longer and do a tour.

The USS Iowa museum is open 7 days a week from 10a-4p.  There is a 2 hour self guided tour that can be purchased for $26 pp.  You can buy the pass in advance or as a walk-up

https://pacificbattleship.com/museum_visit/

As an add-on to the $26 general access ticket (that allows you to do the self guided tour), you can purchase online a private guided tour for $75 pp (additional).  It runs daily at 10:30a, 12:30p, and 2:30p.

There are other add-ons, too.  Some require 2 weeks advance notice (the Gun Tour).

Interesting our cabin steward disappeared on day 3 for 5 days. Said he was feeling much better. From what I do not know.

Three guesses.    The protocol for Covid Infection by crew is 5 days in isolation.  I think this has been the protocol for the past year.   They usually don't explain, just disappear for 5 days then come back.  Sometimes they are assigned to different area.

My favorite Barista on Summit in Septembre disappeared for 5 days and then was back and told me he had tested positive and had to isolate for 5 days.

Good info. Saw two more yellow dots today as we toured floors to get our steps in today. Kudos and thanks to those folks for isolating themselves.

We are still on Central time until tomorrow — we will be setting the clocks back one hour tonight to bring ships time to Pacific Time, same as Los Angeles.

I started Cinco de Mayo a little early today — Luis, the Retreat Bartender, makes what he calls a “Fire and Ice”  - a Spicy Margarita with just a splash of strawberry something 🙂

Delicious.  More we be had tomorrow.

Tonight is Lobster night. The entire tail cut up is about the size of four international postage stamps. Surf & Turf wkth Filet Mignon it is.

Dessert is the highlight. Baked Alaska and a strip of Poached Pear.

Good description. In the MDR we ordered the lobstah and NY strip. Made it more of a meal than the tail alone.  Baked Alaska was pleasantly delicious.

I just couldn't see anyone paying $20 for a second one, but there was one sold at least.

Haha. Trays in hallway are dead giveaway.

Don’t scare me like that… at first glance I though it was a picture of our stateroom door.

But we’ve not set our room service trays outside.  Our Butler has been very good about picking them up in the room.

I do not see any yellow dots.
