If you have money in any form they will find a way to take it.

and not give much of it back....

Do they give lessons? Could use some clervoince for roulette wheel numbers!

Not exactly clervoince but the casino give free lessons on roulette, blackjack and craps - very useful for novice players.

Yes... Yes... Yes... they would probably take your shorts if they could monetize it.

The slots accept both cash (no coins) or Cash Slips.   You can also transfer OBC from Room to Slot - Restrictions may exist.

My win-loss statement for 2022 says otherwise. $3,466 in the red. Only the last cruise was $1,262 in plus. 😁

Good to hear.    I was on Apex and Slots were doing well by me and I'm not a gambler.     I was churning through some NR OBC and have no Idea what I was doing was up a couple thousand by the pile of $100's I finally cashed in.

I kept collecting Cash Tickets and combining them an Iain's into a single ticket.

One thing I learned is the cash tickets are good for 30 days and don't need to be cashed in before the end of a cruise if on a B2B.     I carried over $535 from first Cruise to the second but only have $1.35 chit which I will combine after a weeks  break when we get back on Apex

Rather than directly quoting everyone, I'll just bullet point some items:

  • As @Jim_Iain said, the machines take bills but no coins.  I don't think I've seen a cruise ship casino anywhere take coins.
  • I know the roulette games on the Millennium have boards where the most recent numbers to hit are displayed.  Not exactly clairvoyance, but a look into the past that might predict the future?
  • To confirm what @the penguins said above, I took roulette lessons on the Millie back in November.  The lessons cost the casino a few bucks 🤑, but it could have easily gone the other way.

Thinking that is precisely why they put them there. Investing in that technology has made millions for casinos. Similarly, in Las Vegas they are thrilled any time a customer in the shop buys Roulette strategy guides.

Random is random.

Hopefully there's a "free" cruise buried in there with those losses.

I don't recommend doing that as it sometimes causes problems. Always cash out before the end of each cruise.

I didn't pay a dime for any of my last 12 cruises, including the Panama Canal. So yes, I think I got my money's worth. 😄

Very nice!  You should change your screen name to "Gamble and Sail".

Depends on your objective.

If you want to win big then no strategy will work.

On the other hand if you simply want to combine having fun with converting OBC to cash with very little risk then having a strategy works.

We use the same system/strategy on every cruise and have successfully turned every cent of OBC into cash.

The Casino Manager also said he doesn't recommend it as If you loose it there is no way they can tie it back to your account.

If it's simply about getting cash from OBC, you can withdraw it from the slots. No need to deal with roulette. Any active play has a risk percentage represented by the house edge.

Even if you lose it, it'll be very difficult to tie it back to you, and even worse if someone finds it and tries to cash it in or use it to play. I had a chat with a casino manager on one of the recent cruises, and he said all they can do is firmly ask the guest to give back the voucher, but legally there is no room for them to force it if the finder refuses.

I appreciate the Slot Pull system which is why I specified the “have  fun” and “little risk”. We play corners covering 20 numbers with a $5 stake giving us pretty much a 50:50 bet. We play around $50 at a session, keep all winnings separately and cash out once the $50 is spent. Never chase loses. Have used this “system” on numerous cruises and over the course of a cruise it has worked every time.

Hello - we are traveling on the Eclipse in June 2024 and were wondering if the casino accepts cash for slot machines etc. or do they use ship board credit?

Made me laugh, thank you!

I don't like even leaving the room without cashing out.
