Miami Heat or other big events week of 6/9 - 6/14?

We were going to drive to Miami from Naples the morning of our cruise, but read that traffic could be a total nightmare because of the Miami Heat games.

 

Does anyone know if these will take place that week (couldn't figure out schedule) OR if any other big events will be taking place in Miami then?  We may rethink our schedule and stay in Miami instead of Naples

The Heat play at night. Shouldn't affect you getting to the port in the morning.

Well when the Heat lose to the Knicks it will not matter what time of day 😉

Any Heat games would be at night, and they would need to make the Finals for that timeline. A lot has to go right for the Heat for that to happen. I hope it becomes a worry. But for a cruise it won't be an issue as Finals games are only at night.

Hi, as mentioned, the Heat (if they are even playing at that point) would be night games. They are playing the Knicks right now and need to win one of these last 2 games in order to make it to the Eastern finals. They would then have to win that series in order to make to The Finals. But again, the Finals are a Prime Time event so it should have no affect on cruises. As for when the FInals are happening, the schedule is June 1---June 18th if it goes 7 games with days off in between.

The Heat making the Finals will only really affect hotel prices. They will start to skyrocket.

If your cruise is leaving on a weekend you should have no issues with the drive from Naples to Port Miami, it’s a 2 hour drive.  

 

As others have told you, the Heat if they are are in the finals (let’s go Heat!!) would have their games at night. There are a few things going on during that time frame but they shouldn’t cause major issues and aren’t major events.
