Highest OBC you've received?

While not necessarily the TOP amount Carnival has given out as OBC, this must rank right up there. 🙂

This is not OBC received as a result of a cancelled cruise (or similar bad experience "pay back"), but rather a combination of other things. First, for the booking itself, there was $2,000 from the casino rate - then, $100 from shareholders credit and, finally, $5,582.26 for our (75th) Milestone credit that we're taking advantage of on this sailing. We could have cashed in on that one sooner, but we wanted to wait until we had a more expensive sailing, as 75% back of your cruise fare only comes around ONCE in your (Carnival) lifetime!

The pre-Milestone amount ($2,100) has been up there for many months, but only yesterday did they apply the Milestone credit. I was told it would be applied the week prior to our sailing - but I've been checking, and holding my breath. Now I can breathe again --- WHEW !

$1250.  Never got to use it though.

That's because you never sail.. LOL  😉

I think I've been on two roll calls with you that you've had to cancel. Perhaps third time will be the charm!

So true!  LOL! I am sailing on June 4th.  Had to switch from the May 20th one to June 4th unfortunately due to work.  Hope you have a great cruise and also hope to cruise with you sometime in the near future.

Now I understand the milestone credits!  I didn't know it was issued back as OBC.  I thought you paid a reduced rate (25% off for 25 cruises) so I'm glad you posted this!  Thanks and have fun with all of that OBC!!

$1500 from a casino offer on Vista last month and I’m using the offer again on the Panorama NYE cruise. The offer also includes a nice discount on the cruise fare and free Cheers for me. Happy New Year! 🥳

So will that roll over to another cruise?  Or do you have to spend it all on this cruise??  Or does it go towards paying for this cruise?  I would think that would be very hard to do 😲  I have a long way to go to worry about this problem LOL

I agree.  My 25th is coming up and with it being OBC that is given to you a week before sailing, that means you book excursions hopefully onboard if they are still available.  I'm thinking we will use it to buy CHEERS once onboard.

I think it's a use-it-or-loose-it OBC. Since it only appears right before the sailing, that would be a no (as to if it could go towards paying for the cruise).

Not to worry, I'll whittle it down to ZERO (or below!) before they kick us off 🙂

I read the details (thanks!) and have a question.  If the cruise includes Fly2Fun in the final payment, is that total the amount they figure the OBC on?  Thanks!!

It is based solely on your base cruise rate.  NO taxes, port fees, fly2fun etc.  The base cruise rate only you get your milestone percentage.  And it is only on the rate for the person in the room that hit the milestone.  So, like in me and my husbands case, I have a few more days at sea then him.  I am getting ready to hit 50 and it will be for my base rate on the cruise only.  Then when he hits 50 (3 behind me), he will get it.

I'm not sure - but that's an interesting question. I think it only pertains to the cruise fare itself.

Funny - I'm like 3-4 behind Cheryl (girls cruises, and not a chance in hell for a "boys" cruise). She put off claiming hers so we could both get it on this one.

Ok, so I'm a few ahead of my DH (we women with our girls cruises😉) and it's good to know I can hold off on claiming my 25th milestone till DH can.  Poor baby, someone has to stay home and feed the animals!😂

We had $3800 for our most recently cancelled cruise that I guess will be applied at some point to our cruise this July.  It was a combo of shareholder credit and cancelled cruise credit d/t covid.  When I booked our cruise this summer my amount due was $130 with the balance paid by unused paid cruises.  Our cabin is a Havana Cabana on Horizon so for $130 total for the two of us it will be our cheapest cruise in a way, but not really given that it's our money they are just giving back.
Prior to the Covid cancellations our highest OBC as I recall was in the $2k range from Early Saver credits and OBC for booking as well as shareholder credit.

We can still use OBC at the casino I hope?  If not we will spend it somehow.....

It's "regular" OBC. I've had a couple other casino bookings where I got promo chips. I prefer the OBC!

Very nice! My best is a combo of FP and OBC - $3000.
