I also prefer the stairs, just don't like waiting for crowded elevators. Normally we're somewhere on a  middle deck like 9-10 so It's not that bad of a walk either up to the pool deck/Solarium/WJ or down to the Promenade.

It was a madhouse after we saw the aqua show one night so I decided to walk from 6 to 17... as someone allergic to exercise, those last few flights were rough! 🤣

LOL...we usually take the far aft stairs first, then transfer over forward after an Aqua theater show.

Great review and comments. I really like that you posted photos later - some of the longggggggg photo dumps make it hard to find the actual review mixed in the middle. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

I'm so looking forward to the Wonder!

Thanks and you're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it but I think I need to find a happy medium to break up my long-winded-ness.

I don't normally even have a bunch of pictures when it's just me and my wife... other family members airdropped theirs at the end of this cruise. I'd like to do another semi-live report when we go back on in March (can't get here soon enough) but I'll have to force myself to start taking pictures and/or enlist my wife's assistance.

I'm sure Christmas on Wonder will be amazing!

Absolutely not long-winded. I thought you did a great job of providing detail without going overboard. (😉). I think you've already found a balance with the amount of info you've provided. I easily followed along, found helpful tidbits, and didn't scan thru paragraphs to find the next topic.

It's been many years since I've reviewed a cruise; I appreciate people who put in that time and effort.  Thanks again.

I am sailing on the Wonder in October. It will be my first time on a ship of this size and I must admit your wonderful review has my head spinning, in a positive way. I only booked this cruise because it is being comped by the casino. All of my 25 previous cruises have been on smaller ships so I am a little intimidated by all of the options that the Wonder offers so I am especially grateful that you took the time to educate a Wonder newbie. Thank you.

As long as you've been on Voyager/Freedom class, you'll adapt. Many areas will be familiar... the promenade, MDR, main theater, ice rink, casino, pool deck, solarium, WJ, etc. aren't all that different, just a bit bigger with some different layouts.

Just think of the additional locations as just that... additional locations. If you get off on deck 6 you'll find the Boardwalk with Playmakers, Dog House, and Aqua Theater. Deck 8... the lovely central park, which is just like an outdoor promenade with more dining, a bar, and some stores. Also a good place to cross the ship from forward to aft.

The hard part, of course, is deciding where to eat, what to see, and when to do it all, lol... and that takes research and some trial and error. I had no idea we'd love Mason Jar brunch or that it would be a popular bar at night til I was there.

Hope you have a great cruise! I can't wait to get back on Wonder (as you can tell from my signature).

When in October?   We are on B2B end of Oct. and into first week of Nov.   Same cabin we did last year, at the same time.... for 4 weeks.  🙂  Perhaps we will "sea" you there!

Ahh...we will just miss you.   Coming off Viking 3 week river cruise in Europe at that time.  Just enough time to do our laundry. 😉   Enjoy your cruise on Wonder...we did.  🙂

Lol.  It is a little cocktail party. It used to be held on the helipad during a sailaway and then went to a little party in the suite lounge where officers do a little meet and greet,

I"m reading this a year later as I prepare for my cruise next May.   Early on in the Oasis class history they used  to have Diamond and above parties on the bow of the ship, I think I remember the bow was suite class only most of the time, but we are taking memory for the original Oasis cruises around 2010 or so?   By the time we were Diamond on Oasis in 2016 they stopped those parties.  I really want to go out on the bow of this class of ship. Why? Probably because I have been told I can't.   I do like to sit out there on the Freedom and Voyager class ships.

We had done nothing but Oasis class for so long (except Radiance in Alaska in 2018) that we made it a point to go out on the helipad on Indy in 2022 for sail away (normally we barely pay attention to it). We had a nice long horn battle with Mariner who was leaving PC just before us.

At least I got a nice view of Wonder's from the bridge.
