SueMo Posted June 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2023 We have a good amount of nonrefundable OBC on our upcoming British Isles cruise in August. Just wondering if that can be used in the casino...
DaveOKC Posted June 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Short answer - Most times non-refundable OBC is not good in the casino. However, sometimes the accounting department does not catch it and it gets through. Once onboard you can monitor your OBC credit and generally see how it is being handled on your TV screen. SueMo Posted June 24, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted June 24, 2023 On our last cruise, our nonrefundable OBC was used to pay our tips, and the prepaid tip money came back to us as refundable OBC. We found their accounting system to be incredibly confusing.

Before the cruise I went on the website page for my cruise and found the page for credits. It listed a few things, but at the bottom of the page is "chips." I was able to use the gift card that way. Maybe you can transfer the OBC there for chips, then you get a receipt, either in your stateroom or at the casino.
VirginiaVacationer Posted August 12, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2023 A follow on question to this slightly aged topic…can REFUNDABLE obc be used? I’ve never cruised on HAL and will be on in October before so I am curious. I will have an absurd amount of OBC and it will be a mix. Tia! 🙂

The only catch is that HAL uses non refundable first. I have a mix too and not sure how it will work where I have both. I’ll be taking some cash with me to be safe - after all, the refundable OBC is refundable. 😉
RD64 Posted August 13, 2023 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2023 Current cruise - Non refundable used first for crew appreciation , excursions , etc. but not allowed for casino or cash. Refundable OBC returned to credit card.
Rare Roz Posted August 13, 2023 #8 Share Posted August 13, 2023 Is bingo considered casino spending?

Bingo is managed by the casino Roz and counts towards casino credit for free/discounted cruises but my cost to play has always been deducted from my non-refundable OBC so far 🙂
