Rare RobInMN Posted June 29, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2023 A moderator will likely move your post there, but there is a whole sub forum for insurance: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/499-cruisetravel-insurance/
taglovestocruise Posted June 29, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2023 (edited) We used insuremytrip.com. Around $550.00. That was for 17 nights, airfare, 5 night hotel stay and Covid coverage. We are 69 and 72 years old. If cancel for any reason was included it would have been about another $200 . This was for Sep/Oct 2022. A $2000 cruise will cost a lot less for insurance than a $5000 cruise
lenquixote66 Posted June 29, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 29, 2023 Prior to Covid we frequently booked cruises with a TA company who offered free insurance .
mikefromny Posted June 29, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2023 I always use Allianz. I usually don't take the Cancel For Any Reason option but took it for my last family cruise in June. I had to file a claim because my oldest and his GF broke up 3 weeks before the cruise and he couldn't get a friend to fill on on short notice. I filed the claim with them online on 6/5. The money was in my bank account on 6/15. It helped that RCI gave me a letter that spelled out my costs, how much they returned (port fees and taxes), and how much they retained. RB9643 Posted June 30, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 30, 2023 Probably said a million times before: -- 2+ major vacations a year, buy an annual policy from someone like Allianz -- Check the benefits on your credit card, you might be surprised what you find

I was going to buy a GeoBlue annual policy but it turns out I have GeoBlue coverage with my employer's Blue Cross insurance.
