Platinum Status Question

I will turn Platinum on my upcoming Carnival Dream cruise in a few months.  Will I have early access to drop off our carry-on luggage in our cabin prior to 1:30 pm?  I've heard conflicting information.  We generally select an arrival time between 12:30-1:00 pm so we don't have to walk around for very long with our carry-on luggage.

I caught a video John Heald posted and he said Plats and above may drop off their luggage prior to 1:30PM but aren't allowed to linger.  Just drop off and leave.

Yep, I turned platinum on my cruise last week and we dropped our bags off in the room as soon as we boarded at 11am.  You probably already know all this stuff but.....don't forget to order your chocolate dessert thing from room service.  I forgot!  And your gift and pin need to be picked up at the Pixels counter.  You get your bottle of water from the atrium bar.  And the platinum/diamond party was on the last night and you will get an invitation in your little mailbox.

We just got off the legend three weeks ago and we went to our premium state room and there were no key cards in the mail slot for us so we weren’t able to take a vantage of our platinum status and drop our carry-on off. We didn’t get in our room till 2 o’clock. Hopefully it’s not bad for you.

It has been my experience that staterooms are usually open until the steward is completely done with them. Then they close the door and put the key cards in the slot.

If this happens to you in the future, try to track down your steward and ask for the keys. If you can't find him/her, go to guest services. You are Platinum; you get to go into the expedited line. 😁

On Conquest in May we were able to access the room at 11 when we boarded to drop off luggage. It was already made up and our room keys were waiting on us, no issues at all.

People are still not to linger.

I haven't cruised since 2019.  So Plat rooms won't be ready?

Not any longer.  You can drop off your bags, but you cannot get stay until 1:30 (or whenever they announce rooms are ready.)  That's one of the big negative changes for us.  Early boarding is okay, but we always went back to our rooms as soon as we finished eating to relax and unpack while the chaos was taking place in the public areas.  That's one of the perks that we had most looked forward to.  Most of the others really aren't that big of a deal to us.

Even though I am an early boarder, by the time I find my cabin, drop my luggage off, explore the Prominade deck, and have my lunch, it's pretty close to 1:30 anyway.

If you want to escape the -"chaos",  do what we do and head up to Serenity. It's usually  pretty deserted during the first 3-4 hours of embarkation day.

Thanks for all the information!  We haven't sailed Carnival since 2019 and are Platinum and also on a Casino Elite cruise.  What is the chocolate dessert you order from room service?  Do you just call and ask for it?  What lunch options are there on the Dream on embarkation day?
