Mardi Gras October 7th Sailing not showing up on sites

We have a booking on this sailing, booked about a month ago, I told some friends they should join us but when she went to look you cannot find this sailing to book on any websites including Carnival.  It seemed like there were plenty of cabins left a few weeks ago.  Does this mean it is full or should I be worried that the cruise is being cancelled?  Just find this really odd, usually this far out there would be a couple of cabins available.

She plans on calling Carnival.  Has this ever happened before?

May just be a glitch in the system.  However, that is fall break week for many school systems, so it could be that it is getting near capacity and they are limiting booking.  The week prior and the week after are still showing up, so it's not really likely that it is cancelled.

I had this happen recently on an Alaskan cruise we already had booked - it disappeared off both the website and my portal. When I called about it, was told it had been pulled and was now a charter.

Same thing for a Caribbean sailing I was looking at - it was just gone one day. I had sent my siblings screenshots of that one to see if they wanted to go. Neither could find it and sure enough, when I looked again, it was gone. Called in - same answer - pulled for a charter.

Could be a glitch, but it does frequently happen due to charters.

I kind of thought that.  What schools have a fall break in October?  We are from Florida and usually when we sail in October there are no children.....Well we booked a Havana Cabana so no one under 18 allowed. LOL

Almost every school system in the Southeastern US has fall break in October (and it's often that 1st or 2nd week). In fact, that is our fall break and we are on that cruise.

When I looked a couple weeks ago, cabins were already severely limited. The only thing that was showing up at the time were insides and suites.

Numerous school districts in Mississippi and Tennessee have fall break in October with many surrounding Columbus Day.  Some have it a full week and others just partial week.  A few districts have adopted the longer school year schedule with more breaks during the year and some of those get two weeks in October right after completing the first nine weeks.

Never heard of a Fall School Break in Oct, but whoever is needing to see that cruise that has disappeared might ask if it got pulled for a charter. Even if sold out, you should still be able to see it, just would show sold out on each cabin type.

I'm not sure that Carnival would ever charter a ship as large as Mardi Gras, especially this close to the sailing date.  Specialty charter cruises are usually done a year or more in advance.

I hear ya; just saying I've had more than one cruise pulled due to charter. Probably sold out, but strange it's not showing - I just think it's worth asking.

The same thing happened to our October Celebration cruise. It just disappeared off the website for a couple of days. I assumed it was close to sold out. Then one day it was back on the website showing availability for all cabin types except Oceanview.

My kids have fall break that week (indiana),  we’re doing the Celebration.  I booked a room for 3 of us in march and waited to see if I got a casino offer for the 2 person room and it was gone for weeks.  It popped up a few weeks ago and booked a guaranteed room for more than I paid for the 3 person room.

Just an update, this sailing is showing back up today but all balconies are sold out and ocean view is very expensive. I'm guessing it really was just sold out and is popping back up when people cancel or things open up.

I am booked on the October 1 Celebration and just looked to see what is available. I had been checking frequently, but once the prices were quite a bit higher than I paid, there was no point and I quit checking. Cove balconies were sold out a long time ago, so I was surprised to see eight available today.

Other than Columbus Day being a federal holiday, I had no idea there was such a thing as “fall break”. Interesting thread, thank you!

Just to clarify a small point for you so you aren't disappointed but the age for Havava area is 12 and older. So you will likely see older kids and teens in the Havana area.

I just looked and our September cruise (Celebration) and November cruise (Valor) are no longer showing up.  The November cruise previously had very little availability and this is not during the holiday, so it is pretty surprising.  Cruises are apparently selling out a lot now.

Likely sold out....those are huge travel weeks for those in the SE due to school schedules.  It will likely pop back up at times as cabins become available and then disappear again.
