MLP12 Posted July 10, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2023 Visiting Santorini in August. We would like to find a nice restaurant, moderately priced, not too far from the cable cars in Fira to eat dinner. Our ship doesn't depart until 11:00 p.m. so hoping to eat around 7:00 p.m. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Rare ninjacat123 Posted July 10, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2023 We are porting in Santorini in October and leaving at 5PM. I've been looking at Volkan on the Rocks for lunch in Fira. Here's the website: https://volkanontherocks.com/
CruiserBruce Posted July 11, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2023 We aren't allowed to recommend something we haven't used. That being said, there are MANY restaurants in Fira. You can just wonder along, looking at the restaurants and menus until you find something that sounds interesting to you. They are all tourist oriented...there will be menus posted. edinburgher Posted July 11, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2023 10 hours ago, MLP12 said: moderately priced, Fira and Oia restaurants can be quite pricey, especially those with caldera views, and August will be the busiest month on the island and in that month, possibly the highest prices will be charged. If struggling to find somewhere suitable and with such a late sailing, you have the option of dining onboard and watching the sunset from the comfort of your ship. 1

SpacemanSpiff Posted July 17, 2023 #7 Share Posted July 17, 2023 (edited) While not (officially) recommending it, we are booked at the Volcano Blue restaurant for a September cruise. From an overall standpoint, if you want a restaurant with a caldera view, do some research and get a reservation well in advance. If you try to find one with available seating on the fly, you are liable to have a long wait. EDIT -- if you see some of the online review, you will see that Argos is highly recommended; be forewarned that many of these are dated, and the restaurant has moved away from the caldera.
