CDC Ship Sanitation Inspection

The CDC inspects ships twice a year to rate the ship’s sanitation practices. The results for 2023 show the Pride with a score of 90 disturbingly close to a failing grade of 85.

The Pride does call at Boston occasionally so I assume that fact makes it subject to the CDC inspection. I can’t think of another Windstar ship that calls at a U S port and therefore inspected by the CDC, but my hope is that the problems found on the Pride were Pride specific and don’t reflect a lack of focus fleet wide.

In addition to Boston, Pride also calls on San Juan and the USVI during the Caribbean season. The Star Breeze calls on Alaska (at least for now) so I’d assume they’re in scope too.

  • Host Jazzbeau changed the title to CDC Ship Sanitation Inspection

More concerning are the local restaurants you frequent in America.

The Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) at CDC is only authorized to inspect foreign flag cruise ships that call at American ports.

If they inspected your local restaurant, I can guarantee that the restaurant would fail.
