Is Covid Isolation a Thing Anymore?

I think most of us know this. FWIW quarantine will happen if you have a GI illness until symptoms disappear.   So Covid is only one reason for quarantine.  In other words quarantine has always been happening on cruise lines.

Thanks!  I guess it depends on if people report it to the ship staff.

That’s debatable!

Posted signs ( for the non oblivious) clearly state your temperature is being taken upon boarding. On an earlier cruise, the staff was reporting passengers with troubling coughs and appearing blush. I talked with fellow passengers that had been directed to medical for testing. Security escorted some to medical in that cruise that didn’t go voluntarily as directed.

It’s not necessarily all voluntary.

I'm glad to hear that.  While some folks might know they have COVID-19 and choose to be silent and infect others, I'm sure some reluctance to face the COVID test is a "wishing it wasn't so."

So are you saying that Oceania is taking each passengers temperature as they board the ship in 2023?

Yes I had a gastrointestinal problem a few years back and it tested negative for norovirus but was placed under quarantine.

My “virus” required a couple of injections from the ships medical staff so they were definitely in the know.  They took great care of me.

Yes. It’s install and done automatically as you pass through the security portal. They record your temp along with your photo for facial recognition.

On an earlier cruise they moved the machine around on sea days for monitoring, so it might not be limited to only at boarding.

Thank you Pinotlover for your quick reply.  We didn’t know that and it’s good to know!!

Yes. The facial recognition apparatus also takes temps.
Why does it concern you? Aren’t you happy that, if you have a fever both you and the ship’s doc will be able to take proactive measures?
