MRGACRUZR Posted September 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2023 We are planning our first Oceania cruise after about 65 other cruises, mostly Windstar and Viking recently. We had booked a PH3 but after talking to an O specialist, we switched to a PH1 (11072) cabin at the rear of deck 11 because he said it had a much larger balcony. I asked if it had lounger chairs and he said it did. I guess Vista is too new with too few reviews and I can't find any verifying information. Has anyone sailed in suites 11068 to 11081 that could provide some information on the balconies on these suites. Thanks.

We are in 11071 in December and it appears to the first one on that side with a larger balcony. Hope so, that would be very nice.
Rare mauibabes Posted September 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2023 We are in 11073 beginning October 16 so will confirm but we too have been told there are lounges and the usual two chairs. We have also booked the same room for a couple Allura Inaugural cruises in 2025. We better like that PH. We were on Vista in May for the Founder’s Cruise but was not able to get access to other PH rooms as the ship was sold out. Did get a walk thru in an Owners Suite, OVER THE TOP, HUGE. Enjoy, Mauibabes

The Oceania Butlers can be incredibly helpful, and all the more so if you make sure you "help them to help you". That is, they can't read your mind, so ask for whatever help you need or ask for whatever <X> you want. That could include certain balcony furniture. 🙂 And if you want any extra meals in the specialty restaurants, ask your butler to see if they can find some extra times. And if not, you can order from any specialty restaurant to be served in your suite. For us, that is one of the best perks of a PH. (I don't think that Vista has the same restaurants that we especially enjoy on the Riviera, but there are some others, of course.) And we loved waking up to the wonderful smell of coffee and bacon, and the gentle clinking of some china. [It is especially for these mornings that we let our butler know that any "privacy" notice is for everyone *but* them. IF we happen really to want privacy, we'll just bolt the door, and we certainly don't do that for the times we have requested our wonderful breakfasts to be delivered.] Also, we've requested loungers on a regular PH balcony. At first, our butler said it wouldn't fit. However, what had given us the idea is that one of the Oceania R ships (I forget which one, but one of Oceania's smaller ships) was docked immediately across from us. Those PH suites have smaller balconies... and there were two loungers on one of the balconies! So we pointed over there, and later that day, we had ours. It turned out it worked better with just one lounger, and on several evenings, I would sit out there ready, and with the balmy weather, the gentle rocking of the ship... I'd wake up a some point later and go back inside to join DH. What luxury! Enjoy! GC

Since you've already upgraded to a PH1, and a larger balcony is important to you, why not go for either 7124 or 7127? Aft facing, huge wraparound balcony, and more than enough room for loungers. (Unless, of course, they were taken on your particular sailing, or you'd just prefer to be on an upper deck.) Can't wait to experience 7127 late next year! Ron&Sue Posted September 22, 2023 #7 Share Posted September 22, 2023 We are on Vista now in 7114 which is below 11072. Our balcony is large with table and two chairs and two lounges. Very nice. 1
MRGACRUZR Posted September 22, 2023 Author #8 Share Posted September 22, 2023 (edited) So, it turns out the O Elite representative was wrong, no loungers on PH1 on 11. However, the PH2s at the rear of deck 7 do have loungers. Edited September 22, 2023 by MRGACRUZR

gacruzr Posted September 23, 2023 #13 Share Posted September 23, 2023 And on deck 11, it’s below the Terrace Cafe which could get a little noisy.
gacruzr Posted September 24, 2023 #14 Share Posted September 24, 2023 Kept checking and one of the wide balconies on deck 7 became available. We snagged it🤩

auldlassie Posted September 25, 2023 #16 Share Posted September 25, 2023 I was in 7114 on a 25 night cruise on Vista this July/August The extended balconies on deck 7 at the rear are the deepest on the ship for penthouses, although when we looked up it was obvious that the other extended balconies on deck 8 and above are less deep than those on deck 7. As far as we could determine, the only small snag is that when they wash the overhanging deck, further up and overhead as we looked up from 7114, with the extension overhead to accommodate the wider restaurant floors (possibly deck 12 and above?), the water does splash down onto deck 7. Not much of a snag at all. 🙂 Loved those cabins.
auldlassie Posted September 25, 2023 #17 Share Posted September 25, 2023 I forgot to add that the rear extended balconies on deck 7 have 2 chairs and a dining table, two loungers and a side table, all with plenty of room to be moved around to catch the sun. Rare cruisingxpert Posted September 25, 2023 #18 Share Posted September 25, 2023 The penthouses are all the same for sq footage so the deck will be a as wide as Deck 7 ph but not quite as deep. I think it should still fit one lounger. I think the problem is that they don't have extra loungers.

Thanks for the info. It's as I suspected. I actually found 2 videos of the Prnthouse suites. One showed the aft cabins on seven with the large balconies and loungers and the other of a standard PH balcony. I posted the videos but ended up with a warning. I didn't think about posting a video that was made by a travel agency as being a violation but, by the rules, it clearly was.
auldlassie Posted September 28, 2023 #20 Share Posted September 28, 2023 Hi cruisingxpert, perhaps I have misunderstood what you mean, and am sorry if so, but the penthouse balconies on different decks are not all the same sq footage. If something is same width but deeper, it has to be bigger and you can see from photos, as well as axtually looking at the ship when you are alongside, that they are the same in width as the decks rise, but deeper. Just to be clear for anyone trying to book and wanting maximum space on the balcony of a penthouse.
auldlassie Posted September 28, 2023 #21 Share Posted September 28, 2023 Here is a pic of the balcony of penthouse 7114 on Vista. When you look up you realise that the shortened panel shown is open to the sky and the other higher balconies of same width don't have this extra smaller panel. Not a massive difference, but definitely more than enough room to have 2 loungers and the rest of the furniture with plenty of space to move around following the sun. Delightful! 1
Rare HaveDogWillTravel Posted September 28, 2023 #22 Share Posted September 28, 2023 @auldlassieThank you for posting that picture. I have 2 Vista sailings one in 7116 and another in 7127. I have been hoping to find confirmation of the deck furniture.
