Day Beds for a fee on the pool deck

Recommended Posts

Gotta give the Miami accounting Kabal, another A for the latest way of getting more money from its guests.

This will make the pool chair hogs putting forth extra effort to secure their free spots.

Sad sad sad from the WOW days of a special cruise vacation, a lot different than our first sail in 1997….and almost 100 later, well it’s DIFFERENT.

Before they started charging, we found these beds to be uncomfortable.

The ones in the Solarium on Mariner were awful.  People would grab them and last less than an hour before moving on.

Day beds or "Casitas"? Casitas have never been free... Not sure if you're referring to the same or not, but we weren't impressed with our Casita. The locations are usually "meh" at best, with people walking by you all day, or standing in front of your Casita for no apparent reasons. The bed wasn't as comfy as a beach bed in Cococay.  But otherwise, it seems like a good way to make money for this for-profit company.

Also, last three cruises I've been on - chair hogs have been losing the battle! We saw them regularly collect items left by hogs. In fact on my June cruise we got out to the pool area at 10am and there were dozens of prime loungers available!

I noticed that Icon is selling in-water day beds for $350 for the day on sea days.  Zero shade and no way to use your electronics etc.  We’ve rented a casita before on Odyssey and found it to be a reasonable deal.  These wide-open in water beds have no appeal (for us anyways).

any good chairs or benches (with padding), couches etc WITH SHADE

locations on independence?

Yes, go up around the mini golf course and look for the wicker clam shells. They are under utilized and quite nice for a mid morning nap 🙂
