Thanks everything reminds me of why we loved our first Saga cruise even under Covid restrictions in May last year. Just the same , but better in lots of little ways.

 

Great to see library back. 

 

Great to see cheese selection back to full,  do they bring round trolley 

 

Entertainment,  looks good. 

 

Only thing missing is daily table  tennis 

 

Can't  wait to get back on board a Saga ship in November, trying out Discovery.

Hi !!!! Thanks. WiFi in room is very slow indeed. Best to try Britannia lounge, Living Room.... Hotspots.

My phone time has jumped forward an hour!

 

We entered the Bay of Biscay around 0930. Sea is calm.

 

949 out of 999 passengers on board.

 

Fruit appeared in our room; the Lido Deck; setting up quoits; mad scramble for craft workshops which is wonderful to see so much enthusiasm; the Super crafters; the Hydrotherapy pool; our notice board; the best thing you can bring with on a cruise..... a hanging shoe holder!

This just happened!! There was a gent, from Bishops Stortford no less, lacking a partner, so I stepped up (pun intended) !! The waltz. Lessons for an hour! That's my 'accomplish something new on a cruise' achieved!! Glad I had a good lunch!

 

 

 

Not sure I'll rent one...

Oh that’s new. Reminds of Scenic Diamond cruise and a fellow guest having to be bandaged up by another fellow guest who happened to be a doctor. 
As I can’t ride I won’t be renting.

I hope there will be e-bikes on SoD. My husband I I used to over-winter in Spain and Portugal in our motorhome. E-bikes were our transport. When near Gibraltar we used to ride in to shop etc. Getting in was easy as it was usually around 11 am. Getting out was a different matter ! The first time we left it until about 5 pm when several thousand Spaniards, riding bikes, mopeds and motorbikes, go back home over the border. I chickened out but was not allowed to wheel my bike through the pedestrian entry and so had to join the masses. I can still feel the terror when I think about it and would not advise anyone unused to e- bikes to start using them in Gib.

***For the attention of others on the cruise***

 

 Just taken a call from the spa. 545pm. They've put in a stretch class at 6pm on sea days. Rapid changing going on here. I wonder how they knew to call me!! 😉

 

PS. I can't do pilates. Not agile enough any more.

 

Edit. Went to the Spa. Should have gone to the Gym. Went to Gym. They're still doing Pilates.

We were the only 2 at the Stretch class. Rizwan is a talented instructor. I was able to sit for the exercises and feel quite invigorated!

 

Sat next to a lovely couple at dinner. Tables for 2 in the Grill are barely separate and we had a good time dishing the dirt on councils!!

On our return to the room our fruit bowl had been replenished. Thank you! We had barely read the letters regarding a change in time of an excursion and details of disembarking in Marghera for Venice and Lisbon when there was a knock on the door.

 

Was the very lovely Executive Housekeeper, Cristina Nedeloiu checking in on us. We're extremely happy with our room steward Ely, and to be honest I'd been so involved in reading the letters I'd not noticed the replenished fruit bowl until she mentioned it. I thanked her for the GF biscuits which can also be replenished. I said that I was by no means hungry but would certainly ask if needed! I've not looked yet but last time there were GF biscuits in a jar in the Living Room. 

 

I've seen tomorrow's 'Today' which I will share tomorrow. The afternoon and evening are going to be hectic. There are 2 shows at the same time.... one in the Playhouse and one in the Britannia Lounge! Plus we have a special dinner invitation to attend.

Day 3 sea day

 

Good morning and thanks for following.

 

Was up at the crack of dawn this morning as my pics will testify. Concerning disembarking at Venice the letter received last night is that independent guests at that port are to be ferried to Venice as opposed to bussed. The journey will take 45 minutes. I have an excursion with Viator booked and need to be at St Marks Square at 11am. The first ferry is at 9am so it's really important I'm on it! I've experienced queues for tender tickets before so decided to be at the Excursion Desk well before it opens. The Explore Ashore Manager was there and offered to print off my ferry tickets straight away! Thank you Judi!

Thanks for all the information. A question, please, if you don’t mind? I’ve not noticed much so far in the way of external lecturers/speakers - is there a separate schedule, or have I just not noticed? I’d be looking for some kind of talk a couple of times a day or so, which is what P&O used to provide until the cut-backs.
