Waikiki pre cruise: Outrigger Reef or Outrigger Waikiki?

Did same repositioning cruise back in 2015 and stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki pre cruise. Loved the location.  Walked everywhere.  Convenient to many restaurants and bars with great beach views. It was for one night only as we had spent a week in Hawaii a few years before.

Ditto…if you have the opportunity, Duke’s in the hotel has delicious food.  We did the buffet after the Diamond Head hike.

Sailing on repositioning Celebrity Solstice April 25, 2024.  Would you recommend Outrigger Reef or Outrigger Waikiki for 2 nights pre cruise.

What's the "all in" price difference?  They're only a relaxed 10min walk or 5min power walk apart

Either isn't bad but if you select Outrigger Reef do not get a city view room on the street - very noisy! We got upgraded to a suite on our second stay in October - the room was GREAT. The restaurant is open air and has a great view. Go for lunch - the menu is the same as dinner and you can easily sit by the water. Great views. Sunset is very popular there. There is an ABC store right in the hotel!

The Outrigger Reef is right on the beach.

i took a picture of it from our hotel balcony this morning and I will post it if you would like when I get back to the room.

We were there on October 26th - have fun with your travels and don't drink to much rum😂 We were on the Panama Canal cruise with you!

Thank you. Remember you from your post about our cruise.

We’re here in Honolulu for a few days of sun and food!

Arrived last night and depart on the 13th.

No tum yet but that may change once I get back from ‘honey do’s’ later today.

The two hotels are only 800 yards or so apart. Convenience to restaurants and bars isn't an issue really.

Are you sure you don't mean the Outrigger Waikiki? The City View rooms at the OWB are on Kalakaua  Blvd, the busiest street in Waikiki. In general we find the Reef area much quieter than the OWB.

The Reef also has Monkeypod Kitchen, which is a much better restaurant than Duke's.

Aloha. As has been previously posted any rooms facing Kalakaua will be noisy. Either hotel is fine. Dukes is more of a tourist trap than monkeypod and is actually based in California. They share a location with Hula Grill which is essentially the same. They are all fun. Enjoy!

We always stay at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort! Right on the beach, gorgeous views, directly across from shopping, and Dukes is in the hotel.  Love Dukes! The fish is always so good!! Will be going back again this summer.  Highly recommend!
