Can husband and wife use the same players club card?

My wife and I are taking our first Carnival cruise in a few months and play in the casino. On RCL we always just use the same players card as we typically have gotten better comps by doing this. Is this allowed on Carnival? If so, can you just request a duplicate card from the casino host so that we can play at the same time? In the past on other lines if a hand pay was hit sometimes they paid who pulled and sometimes whos card was in the machine. It does not mater since taxes are filed jointly. Its all the same so that does not mater to us.

There is no separate players card all is tied to you S & S card which you both receive individually, You certainly can use only one person's card however the issue could arise with a hand pay as they look at the S&S card on the machine and match the ID for the payout. I had this issue with my grandson playing on my card but was ultimately able to resolve

We have done this but don’t ask the host, go to the casino cage and ask there. When we asked the host she was surprised by the question, checked with someone in the back and said no. When I tried again on the next cruise I asked at the cage and they made a blank card for my hubby to use with all my account information on it. This works for the slots, when he played table games he used his Sail & Sign card. We’ve played on the same card in all the casinos in Vegas for years with no issues, it’s a bit of a hassle on a Carnival ship but can be done.

Hmmm this is intriguing. So, you use the same account for all slot play but, individual ones for tables?

Yes, we have done this two or three times now. You have to wait for one of the tech employees to make the card which is a blank white card. I play slots a lot more than my hubby and I get good casino offers so we always use my account. Next up is our NYE cruise to celebrate his 70th birthday so I think we’ll get a card for his account and I’ll try to get him an offer too. I have way too many “free” cruises booked now to maintain my level of play anyway.

would you get that from a host or at the cage?

Just keep in mind that Carnival does not have a published schedule of comps. Beyond drinks on us being extended at 1500 points, everything above and beyond that is at the discretion of the house. You could end up using your spouse's card and each rack up 10,000+ points and not get a single comp.

Take home point - don't gamble for the comps. Gamble for entertainment.

For me definitely the cage. I had read that you could do it but forgot the person said they got the extra card from the cage and asked the host, she seemed confused why I would want two cards and she would have to check. She went in the back and came back with a hard no. The next cruise I asked at the cage, got one no problem and have done on three cruises so far. We are definitely not high rollers but I have been able to book several “free” balcony cruises with drinks everywhere for me.

Same question here @LaRue1975 I'm leaving Sunday and plan on figuring this out!

Go to the cage, I have told them I want it so my hubby and I can play on the same account and that I want to play two machines at once. It is probably be better to stick with the truth, one look at my play and they would know I don’t play two machines. They didn’t seem to care either way so I would definitely ask, the worst that could happen is they say no. Like the host did, lol!

There is no benefit to sharing one card.  Comps are up to each hosts and since they know you are sharing, just double what points are needed.  Doesn't help for later offers either.

I am not worried about the comps from onboard, i am more looking at comps thru email. Racking up more points on one card will definitely get you better email offers.

The problem is like I said, CCL's casino does not have a published schedule of comps so there's no guarantee of that.

No, it won't.  Offers are based on targeted demographics and who shows up more in their bots, get better offers.

Not true. Getting more points continued to get us better offers.  I went from table games to slots where I earned way more points and started receiving way more and better offers.

Had nothing to points. When your onboard spend increases and how you paid is of more interest to marketing offers.

And this is based on what?

Pretty sure if I didn't play in the casino, I wouldn't get the offers I do.

Granted the offers are starting to dry up now. But people were and are getting free cruises in the casino even without playing in the casino for years. Getting free cruises without ever cruising Carnival in the past, by playing at their local Indian casino. Etc. etc.

The Ocean Players Club can extend comps to anyone they want - they have no published schedule of comps.

My advice to everyone is to play for entertainment, because the comps are not guaranteed.

Don't waste your time, Elaine will never concede to this, even though there are countless examples otherwise.
