I lived in one of the largest cities in the world (yes, even bigger than San Diego  😉) when I did the Chef's Table. Even at $150, it is still very reasonably priced compared to a similar experience in a land-based restaurant.

gotta love CC

DH and I did the Chef's Table on the Legend a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. It cost $75 pp and we felt it was worth it. Now that it's $150 pp they would really have to ramp it up significantly for us to pay that.

As a crusty old Navy Chief, just give me a Guy's Burger or a breakfast burrito and I'm a happy guy. I've never even payed $100 per person for a meal and I never will. To each their own however.

And yes, I also happen to enjoy canned, cooked beets too. I have a couple of cans in my pantry right now. Not as crazy about cold ones, but my wife likes them cold on her salad.

Chef's Table price ranges from $90 to $150. $150 is not for the standard Chef's Table. For $150 you get an enhanced experience on a limited number of ships.

Gladly: https://www.timeout.com/usa/restaurants/cheapest-michelin-starred-restaurants-in-the-us and the Chefs Table is definitely not Michelin Rated for a variety of reasons primarily on the service side, as for example all dishes don't hit the table at the same exact time to all seated guests.

All dishes hitting the table is not a Michelin criteria.

Looking at a couple of the cheap restaurants

Tail Up Goat

Dinner $130 / Audrey’s Wine Pairing $95 / Bill’s Wine Pairing $155
exclusive of service fee & tax

A 22% service fee will be added to your bill.

You can easily drop $150 just on the wine pairing. And dinner is only 6 courses. Wine is included with the Carnival Chef's Table.

Le Bernardin

Chef's Tasting Menu - $325 per person – $495 per person with wine pairing

Holy Moly!!!!!

I participate in a Holiday Cookie Exchange with my book club and I made chocolate cookies using canned shredded beets.  They won most original cookie.  I walked away with a fistful of dollars. I still thought there was an essence of dirt but some people like dirt, if it's mixed up with enough chocolate😉

Except that article of "cheap" Michelin restaurants... doesn't actually list the cheap Michelin restaurants. It actually lists a bunch of expensive Michelin restaurants.

Michelin restaurants are cost rated from $-$$$$.

The restaurants in that article are mostly $$$, the second most expensive category.

You want to see actually cheap Michelin restaurants:

https://guide.michelin.com/us/en/restaurants?sort=lowestPrice

Nhà Hàng Vietnam is a Michelin starred restaurant. Most expensive entree on the menu? $13.95

But do they have a Chef's Tasting menu with wine?

FYI, being in a Michelin guide doesn't equate to star(s).

Somebody here posted a review of a cruise from down under back to the states.  In there thy mentioned that most places in Australia when you order a burger it comes with sliced beets on it.  Put a whole new perspective on it for me.

Well that's a bummer. I was down in Hobart, Tasmania in 1976 (courtesy of the USS Enterprise CVAN-65 and Uncle Sam). I spent time in both Hobart and also took the train to Launceston for 2 days during our week there. Never once did I see a burger & beets on the menu. Guess I'll have to go back and look. It was - easily, my favorite port call in 24 years of service, followed by Palma de Mallorca.

When I think of what I "donate"  to the casino, Chef's Table is a bargain.

Last time I went was on Pride in 2019 and I think it was $90

It was worth it to me and quite enjoyable and kept me out of the casino for a few hours!
