Slyfox16 Posted December 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2023 Anyone know where the Prima docks in Reykjavik?
Rare ontheweb Posted December 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2023 Call NCL, and they will be able to tell you. I know I did that when I needed to know where they docked in Amsterdam.
UKstages Posted December 9, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2023 there are two ports and either could - technically - be used, but the prima generally docks at skarfabakki, which is intended for lager ships. (the prima is a smaller scale large ship.)
bluesea777 Posted December 9, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2023 Skarfabakki is the only place that NCL ships will dock. It's east of Reykjavik
Rare PhillyTravelBug Posted December 9, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 9, 2023 We actually walked from our hotel to the port. It is a hike (2 miles), but it's along the water and scenic if the weather is nice.
Rare Anoynmous Phoenix Posted December 9, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 9, 2023 @Slyfox16 We have boarded two different ships in Reykjavik. They were both at Skarfabakki. It cost about USD30 for a taxi from downtown. Look at https://www.google.com/maps/place/Skarfabakki+Harbour/@64.1457431,-21.9102919,13z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x48d674f03de4d84f:0x2a59cf73db888e4b!8m2!3d64.1561465!4d-21.8647587!16s%2Fg%2F11bwqfq983?entry=ttu

Very practical advice & useful ... now that we are running TA fever.
CRUIS4ME Posted December 22, 2023 #10 Share Posted December 22, 2023 Upon arriving in Reykjavik, we had an overnight stay on the ship and added an extra day to our vacation. We reserved a rental car which was near the port and took a taxi to pick it up. We used our rental car for a diy day and then Kept the car overnight in the port parking area. Next day we disembarked, had the car to put suitcases in, drove to hotel then used the rest of the day for continued site seeing. Worked well. Easy to drive in Iceland.
