Have it all package pricing keeps changing

We booked a 25 day cruise a year ago on the non-refundable deposit rate with no have it all.  I tried to add have it all a few months ago and was told I could not do it on a non-refundable deposit booking.  Since final payment is due next week, I was checking through our booking and discovered have it all as a package that I could presumably book for....and now it gets confusing....$95 per person (not per day...just per person). Going to the detail, it showed $95 per person per day...but that was crossed out and it said $55 a day.  Due to presumably system problems, I couldn't book it...the arrow on the screen kept spinning.  Ultimately, after 3 hours on the phone with both HA and my TA, I booked the $55 a day price.  (note: out of curiosity, after booking I went back to the site...and system problem fixed, it would have allowed me to actually book the $95 per person rate....not per day...for the cruise....I wonder if they would have honored that price??.  Oh well...I'm OK with $55 a day).  OK, curious me looked again this morning and the package is now priced as a per cruise rate...and it's higher than $55 a day which is confusing since it's neither the "normal" rate or the discounted $55 rate they're advertising..

The moral of this long post is that if you don't have the HIA package on your cruise, check the HAL site to see if the rate today is attractive...and keep an eye on it.

The price went up to $55/pp/day back in early November. We got in the neighborhood of 10 emails telling us to upgrade before the price went up.

At that time, they weren't allowing folks who booked the no frills, non refundable fare to book the HIA.  When we booked HIA was $7000+ more than the non HIA, non refundable deposit fare we were offered on the HAL site.  We wanted to do the upgrade but couldn't.

Booked 14  nights British Isles cruise for 2025 last month at the standard rate, no promos with the $25.00 per person non refundable deposit.  Yesterday we decided to add Early Booking Bonus+HIA.  We are fortunate to receive a special casino rate with HAL for all of our cruise bookings, but I assumed that it would not apply to promotions added after the fact.

Happily, I was wrong!  Our daily rate worked out to $60.00 pd.pp. in Canadian dollars total of $1690 for the entire cruise.  When we originally booked the cruise we were told the addition of the promo would be a total of $2400.  We saved $710 by waiting two weeks.   And our booking changed to a refundable deposit.  So confusing!

I have a promotional fare for a South America/Antarctica cruise and I purchased the HIA package at $50/day.  Originally I tried to purchase the HIA using my Safari browser on my Mac and I message would pop up saying my fare I wasn't eligible for the package.  I later tried to purchase the package using the Firefox browser on my Mac and it worked.  If you're having problems purchasing try another web browser.

How about this for an anomaly?

I just checked the HAL website under the "Manage My Cruise" heading, i/c/w our upcoming 28-day Asia cruise. It's stated there that the per-day price of the "premium, Elite Beverage Package" is "$49.95 if pre-booked online compared to $59.95 if purchased on board." Sounds really good, doesn't it? But if you want to order the package, the price quoted on the same page is $1,650.32" That is very close to the $59.95 figure. How does one snag the $10/day price?

I believe the difference is that the beverage package alone does not include any other perks.  You can either prebook or book once onboard.  However, the HIA package, which includes crew appreciation and others, is more expensive because you get much more than just beverages.  We paid the equivalent of $50.00 US pp/pd for the HIA because of our casino discount rate.

$49.95 x 28 days = 1398.60 +18% gratuity = $1650.35

However if you do the calculation as $49.95 +18% grat = $58.94 x 28 days = $1650.32.

HIA price is inclusive of gratuity.

Just to add more confusion - in early November I added HIA to my Nov, 29 sailing for $40 per person per day.  I received all the normal perks and I have no idea why the website showed this low price, but I sure did not complain.  For $800 (10 day cruise) we received $400 in shore excursions, 2 Pinnacle dinners (value $100), two Tamarind dinners (value about $60), free wifi and of course the free drinks!  Could not pass up this deal!

Yep.  HIA at $55 is about the same price as the beverage package alone.  Why would I pay the same price for the beverage package and not get the included excursions, specialty dining and WiFi under the current plan. This is from my 14 day booking on the website right now.

Signature Beverage Package = $53.04/day includes the 18% gratuity

HIA = $55/day
