Don_In_AZ Posted December 13, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2023 We booked a guranteed outside and according to my booking on the Princess website, we're in category OF which is at the front of the ship directly underneath the main theatre. I'm going to look into upgrading with my travel agent tonight, but was wondering if anyone here has experienced being underneath the theatre and could comment on the noise level as well as approximately how late the shows typically run. nini Posted December 13, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2023 When on the Golden (now retired from Princess), we were above the Princess Theater and yes, we were able to hear things from rehearsals and the shows.
Rare Cruise Raider Posted December 13, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 13, 2023 You may want to upgrade. The theater not only has rehearsals during the day but also shows until 10:30 or so.
SargassoPirate Posted December 13, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 13, 2023 (edited) Passenger cabins above, below, and across the corridor goes a long way to prevent entertainment and other noise from disturbing you Edited December 13, 2023 by SargassoPirate
Rare cr8tiv1 Posted December 13, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2023 I would reconsider you cabin choice. Plaza Deck/ocean view/far forward/under theater are some of the worst cabins. As you move closer to the bow, the curvature of the ship DECREASES the inside of the cabin.
mtnesterz Posted December 13, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 13, 2023 (edited) Having had the experience of staying in a lower deck forward cabin, the show noise was a non-issue. Hull noise from the waves hitting the ship kept us awake. Edited December 13, 2023 by mtnesterz
tobyt Posted December 13, 2023 #7 Share Posted December 13, 2023 We have been above and it was not an experience I would consider again. The price was amazing, it was a last minute trip and overall we made the best of it but it was not just during showtimes it had impact, tender days they used it to gather, rehearsal time pretty much daily and far more events than we expected. It was indeed price effective but not really relaxing.
