New Princess App available

Maybe this identifies if you have the  Princess Plus package   Under the Profile tab there is a symbol like this by the Onboard Package Section.   I have the Plus package connected to the booking number that is shown on the app. 
 

Do you have the Plus package

That’s what I ASSUMED..but we don’t have the plus package..but this IS a casino offer booking..so I mean shoot if they somehow gave it to us…all the better for us! Haha

can anyone who DOESNT have plus/premier, confirm they have a different icon? (One without a + or a *)

I don't have access to the new Princess Cruises App onboard because there is a parental control that no one can seem to figure out how to bypass on my account.  My friend let me borrow her phone and app to allow me to poke around.  What I've noticed so far...

 

Lots of functions are buried under the Profile tab (folio, Internet packages, FCD purchase).

The shore excursions are buried under the Ship Schedule.  In order for you to see/purchase the shore excursions in each port, you have to scroll to that particular day.  Too much scrolling/pressing the forward button to get to the correct day, especially if the port is at the end of your cruise.  Shore excursions don't show as a continuous list for all ports like in the old app.

There's an icon for the Lotus Spa, but it only takes you to a page that compasses you to the Lotus Spa, no ability to book appointments.  Makes this function superfluous, except for as being an ad for the service.

 

Ocean Front has been super busy on this cruise.  Lots of people don't know how to use the new app and are afraid to explore it on their own.  It's compounded by the number of people that need coaching on how to connect to MedallionNet or how to switch devices.

Items aren't BURIED as you say, they are in a CATEGORY, which is easy to find, unlike the previous app.

 

You can also view your account in real time, without taking a lot of different screenshots to view everything.

 

Sad that people need coaching as there's a leaflet when they board with easy steps to connect to MedallionNet. 

 

We found it much easier to navigate than the previous one.

They are buried.  The most common problem with those in line at Ocean Front is that passengers don't know where the functions are in the new app.  On the old app, most of these were on the homepage.  I only know because I've been spending (wasting) lots of time at Ocean Front trying to get help with my login problem.

My girlfriend and I get this parental control consent when we login using login/username and booking number.  It's perplexed the Ocean Navigators on board because we are in our mid-30s, aren't sailing with our parents, nor do we have our booking linked with anyone in our group.  There's one other poster who has posted that has encountered this problem and has stated he/she is 73.  Trying to get this fixed on board while there is a direct contact.  Been called down to the Ocean Front desk several times by the navigators only to be disappointed.  The same message appears when logging in using the ship's Samsung tablet that is used to troubleshoot problems.

Still so much missing even once onboard.  I wanted to know when shore excursions would be open to see about switching an excursion in a future port, but had no luck finding hours for shore excursions or any of the other services onboard.  I asked at OceanFront to be sure it wasn’t buried somewhere I had overlooked only to be told, “it’s not there yet, but it’s coming.”

Looks like you need the Patter/Princess Events paper.

The sad thing is that I WANT to find things to like about the app, but the harder I try, the more shortcomings I seem to reveal.

I don't have any package, but I have the same icon with the plus sign. So... the plot thickens....

I also do not have any package and there is no icon, no + just a blank spot

Where do you see My voyages? I went under Profile and see a button to add voyage, but nothing there? I really hate when Princess tries to make updates and it is all screwed up.

At the bottom of the app tap on the profile icon.

Yeah still nothing. The only thing I can think of is that the voyage is in August. But I am platinum, so was hoping to be able to see excursions and dining, but alas, no.

Weird. It should be the first thing you see under your picture when you click on "profile" on the intial page. May I suggest logging off and then logging back on with your next cruise's booking number, and then try clicking on Profile again. Other than that, I have no suggestions. BTW I'm using an iPhone.

Sail date and tier level has nothing to do with your issue. Agree as suggested, try logging out and back in. I login with User ID and Password. I'm using an Android

Yeah I have tried logging out and back in, and even uninstalled and reinstalled. Still same issue. Under my profile picture includes an Add Journey button, but when I try to add my booking number, it says it is already added.

At least you can use the website for your pre cruise planning. My preference.

Really kind of weird since you’re logging in with a booking number rather than a PCL userid.

Well, I have been using the Website after seeing all these issues with the new app while waiting til things are sorted out. Just FYI, though, I tried to look at dining reservations after logging in, and twice it told me immediately that my session has expired! Really?

I’m on the sky princess now and new app is working good I did keep the old one just in case I do like on journey view you can book mark events for whole cruise and it shows up on your daily schedule

We were able to see excursion on the TV.

Okay... Broke down and installed the new app on my phone. (It crashed on my old tablet every time I tried to look at dining.) I have the "old" Plus 50. Neither the old app nor the new app acknowledge that I have a package at all.

 

The new app on my phone doesn't crash when checking dining. I originally had a private table for 5 but my son and his family dropped out of the cruise. The old app now shows a private table for 2 but the new app shows a private table for 5.

 

Both the old app and the new app now show my Shoreside billing with the same credit card I used for on the ship. I never entered that or authorized the use of the card in either app. It seems to have just "assumed" I want to use the card in that manner. I guess it doesn't make much difference as I don't plan to use the Medallion to pay for things on shore anyway but it's annoying that they are just kind of hijacking my card info without me having given consent.
