During the last cruise some cases of gastrointestinal illness were reported to the Medical Centre. To control the spread of illness, we have proactively stepped up our already robust disinfection measures. These protocols were developed in conjunction with leading global health authorities and are designed to adapt to changing health situations. As a result of these measures, embarkation will begin later in the afternoon, and we ask that you arrive 2 hours later than the arrival time published on your boarding pass. We thank you for your understanding of this matter."

If you are not on the cruise and not received that then I am assuming you have no idea and just "copying and pasting". I am due on the cruise. They don't specifically state norovirus, hence the speculation. I didn't expect to be accused of lying about it to be honest.
Plugtheleak Posted December 28, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 28, 2023 We are on this cruise also, last time we had a delayed boarding it was total mayhem at the terminal. We missed early dinner sitting and expect this might be the case again.
davecttr Posted December 28, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 28, 2023 (edited) Same message and same ship a couple of months ago. On arrivng 2 hours late the embarkment process proved to be smooth with priority boarding. Was it Norovirus? If it walks like a duck.... PurpleMoonlight Posted December 28, 2023 Author #7 Share Posted December 28, 2023 Hopefully there will be no further delays. We are put back to 4.15 pm now and are on 1st sitting at dinner. We have a private coach for the journey to Southampton which is due to get there at about 1.30 pm.

Mollag Posted December 28, 2023 #9 Share Posted December 28, 2023 (edited) Might be another reason for the delay as she’s making up for Falmouth on AIS Edited December 28, 2023 by Mollag

MoandMi Posted December 28, 2023 #11 Share Posted December 28, 2023 We have also received an email from P&O this afternoon titled ‘Important information concerning your holiday’, the email mentions ‘gastrointestinal illness’ and our embarkation time has been changed from 1.45pm to 3.45pm. I hope there won’t be any serious problems with illness aboard this cruise, because our last cruise with P&O (in August this year) didn’t go to plan either, we were aboard Britannia when she broke her moorings in Palma, Majorca. Fionboard Posted December 29, 2023 #12 Share Posted December 29, 2023 Same thing last month on Ventura. And Arcadia recently. Seems normal now on many ships. Covid now not the main problem.

CarlaMarie Posted December 31, 2023 #15 Share Posted December 31, 2023 @Selbourne Southampton VTS still has you down as a 1800 departure, whereas Ventura is now departing at 2000.

Cannot wait to hear all about it! Thanks. Wind speeds also predicted to be calming for our run down to Madeira (first stop). Hope that’s right, as we had a very bumpy ride down there (and back) on Ventura a couple of months ago. Also hoping that our transatlantic from there to Bermuda will be calmer than our previous transatlantic (New York) as we had force 10 all the way there and all the way back (tail end of various hurricanes) which was extremely tiresome 🤢
