chrysalis Posted January 13 #2 Share Posted January 13 yes, and based on experience, you need to get your seats at about 6am and hold them for the day.
mtnesterz Posted January 13 #3 Share Posted January 13 (edited) Since most of the world doesn't care about the Super Bowl, it might have been nice to know where you will be sailing, rather than have us look it up. If it's a US cruise, then probably. We cruised Japan and were able to watch Sumo live. So yes, regionally popular sports are shown. Sky Princess is sailing out of Fort Lauderdale, doing 7 dayers in the Caribbean. We have family members leaving the ship this morning....
shepcookie Posted January 13 #5 Share Posted January 13 I was on a Hawaii cruise during a Super Bowl. I believe they showed it on the big screen, but they also had a party in one of the lounges. Special food and even ice sculptures that highlighted both teams. It was a lot of fun. However, no commercials. Depending on the game, that is sometimes the best part. skynight Posted January 13 #6 Share Posted January 13 I have seen the Super Bowl many times on Princess cruises. MUTS is crowded. Hard to get a chair. The game may also be shown at the casino bar and maybe the Vista Lounge. I have also seen it shown in my cabin. Ask at passenger services for the locations. CruisinCouple2010 Posted January 13 #7 Share Posted January 13 We have been on several cruises for Super Bowl Sunday and as Chrysalis stated above you better get a chair really early and park yourself in it all day.
DCThunder Posted January 13 #8 Share Posted January 13 I hope they show Puppy Bowl XX beforehand. That's much better than the 6 hours of blather of pre-game shows!

Also, don't choose seats near the door leading to the seating area by the MUTS screen. People will be constantly passing by during the game. We staked out our seats early one year & took turns getting something to eat at the buffet while one of us would hold the chairs. Just leaving something on a chair will not hold it for very long. 😄
DCThunder Posted January 15 #10 Share Posted January 15 Not to give the Princess monetization department any ideas, but they could be making the MUTS loungers pre-paid reserved seating for Super Bowl Sunday or other big sporting events shown on MUTS. $25 per lounger from 4:00 pm until the games over times however many loungers there are, could be bigly profitable!💲😉💲

Seems to me it was either $100 or $150PP

chrysalis Posted January 15 #14 Share Posted January 15 Just now, MissP22 said: You're not serious, are you. absolutely....they had those wickers sofas and chairs lined up on the deck overlooking the pool/muts area....and they sold out early in the day. First come, first seated.
MissP22 Posted January 15 #16 Share Posted January 15 I just told my husband about it & he said that they were charging for seats on Deck 17 during the New Years eve celebration. He wasn't sure if the price but he did say that lots of folks were moving downstairs since it was to windy. Another couple tried to go up there to watch the activities but were told to leave. Rare startedwithamouse Posted January 15 #17 Share Posted January 15 They sell reserved sections around MUTS for NYE, they should do this for the Super Bowl too.

Thrak Posted January 16 #19 Share Posted January 16 Snag a good spot on the upper deck. People try to get seating at the pool deck but, if you go reasonably early and choose an upper deck, you can get good seating.
2and2 Posted January 16 #20 Share Posted January 16 Could be exciting on Regal out of Galveston if the Houston Texans make the Superbowl.
PapaGoose Posted January 16 #21 Share Posted January 16 We will be visiting Stanley, Falkland Islands on Feb 11. I wonder how many will skip the penguins that day to save a seat for outside Super Bowl viewing that night? Temps seem to be around 8-10 C or 45-50 F during evenings down there right now. Not to mention the windchill while sailing towards Cape Horn the next day. It’ll be almost like watching a game live in Kansas City or Buffalo…. Cinerama Posted January 16 #25 Share Posted January 16 We were on a Panama Canal cruise back in 2012 and watched the Super Bowl (Giants beat the Patriots) on the MUTS screen. No problem for seats.
