Rare What A Market Posted February 18 Author #28 Share Posted February 18 Thank you everyone for the heartfelt comments about Susie. She was truly a force of nature. The most driven and headstrong person I’ve ever met or known, combined with being an amazing mom and grandmother. I miss her everyday. Here’s a photo of Susie and her husband Phil on our last cruise together in November 2022. Onboard one of Celebrity’s other S Class ships. She’s wearing one of her amazing hats to hide the hair loss. I think she brought five or six hats with her for this Caribbean cruise. She rocked every one of them!
Rare What A Market Posted February 18 Author #29 Share Posted February 18 So today being a sea day, it was filled with a whole lot of nothing. I did spring for a massage. Murano for dinner later. WooHoo! Heading off to an “Officers Soirée. So fancy! 😜
Rare What A Market Posted February 19 Author #30 Share Posted February 19 So the Officers party was nice last night. The usual shaking of hands. (Were shaking hands again almost four years after Covid!) Had a chance to chat quite a bit with Arjan, the Hotel Director. The other nice part was sitting at a “real” bar and chat with the bartenders. Started with a Negroni. No large single cube ice, but nice nevertheless!
Rare ggo85 Posted February 19 #31 Share Posted February 19 Interesting the officers shook hands. Last cruise, they did not. At least not mine. 😐
Rare What A Market Posted February 19 Author #32 Share Posted February 19 After the officers party in Michael’s, we walked next door to Murano for dinner. Met with the wine steward/somm, Ivanna, (they’re not true Sommeliers, but that’s a different discussion….) and ordered a glass of the Bertani white blend to start as well as a bottle of the Penner Ash Pinot Noir. (Great price for a bottle when including the discount with the included drink package. Would never see this price point in a restaurant.)
Rare What A Market Posted February 19 Author #33 Share Posted February 19 And now for all the Murano food porn. We each started with the warm water lobster (please, no arguments on the warm versus cold,,,,, lol). Prepared fully table side, not just splashed around in the sauce. Really tasty. Very tender.

Its a great Pinot (drink this at home often), I pay 55 In NH Liquor stores (state run) for it. I have seen conflicting if you can order it by the glass with like a 4 dollar surcharge based off Premium.
Rare What A Market Posted February 19 Author #37 Share Posted February 19 For next course, Heidi had the morel risotto and I had the Scallop Wellington. This scallop was the only “fail” of the evening. It had been sitting around to long after baking and the Diver Scallop was actually just pieces of scallop. I didn’t finish. (I did finish Heidi’s risotto.)

Rare What A Market Posted February 19 Author #39 Share Posted February 19 Slight break from Murano. We arrive in San Juan at 4:00pm this afternoon. The Apex arrives same time. We left Ft. Lauderdale together. I think that’s her just behind us off the starboard side. Another absolutely beautiful day!

Rare What A Market Posted February 19 Author #42 Share Posted February 19 Back to Murano For mains, Heidi had the duck breast and I had the crusted lamb chops. Both were very good.

Rare What A Market Posted February 19 Author #44 Share Posted February 19 (edited) We finished the meal with soufflés, despite Heidi’s protest. Go big or go home, I say! Heidi had the Grand Marnier and I had the dark chocolate. (Sorry, I broke open before photo. Heidi was already wolfing her’s down. 😂) Oh, and random photo of cheese cart that was wheeled up to table next to us. Rare hcat Posted February 19 #45 Share Posted February 19 Who ever has room for the Cheese course? We would actually like it with some wine at the start of the meal but are too shy to ask.. maybe next time? I am not showing my husb those lamb chops..perfect color for him. He will want to cruise again way too soon..we just returned from ASCENT ( AQ Class).. it was perfect!

cheeseheads4ever Posted February 19 #47 Share Posted February 19 What A Market, Great pictures and you are making me hungry. We’ve did the lobster cooked table side many times and absolutely loved it. Maybe I’m forgetting is the lobster you are showing in the picture the entree? I see you have lamb chops as well. we are on a reflection in a month and first night we are in Murano’s for you guessed it…tableside cooked lobster… Enjoy your cruise…. The lobster IS from the entrees. But I usually order as my first course. Then an appetizer (or two). And then my main entree, which was the lamb chops (as you note). Do you get a entree size portion each or split between you? What a great idea.
