Any must do or see items on Princess - Sailing on the Emerald

New to Princess and have sailed on Celebrity, Hal, and Royal within the last 4 years, Disney seems like a lifetime ago.

Curious what to expect and if there are any must do items or see items on Princess ships. Also take any tips and tricks as well.

We generally are chill people onboard. Don't do the drink package, and may have 3ish drinks on a trip. Not big into the night time scene other than seeing a show or comedian. We use cruises to unwind and relax and not think about work. We will do some activities, like trivia and we did a board game that was kind of like an escape room challenge. I think what we have found is that once we left Disney a lot of the activities we did centered around our daughter, and we have progressively done less and less activities, partly because not as many seem to be offered for adults.

We are just off the Emerald. One thing we enjoyed were the 'Behind The Sea' lectures. Lots of info from different crew members and an interview with the captain. If you are going through the canal the series will likely be different but we have always found their lectures to be good. In the dining room, find a set of servers you like and you can then book one of their tables at your preferred time for the remainder of the cruise. If they are good they will be able to recommend the best dishes of the evening that suit your taste. There are lots of quiet sitting spots around the ship so take a good walk around to find them. Skywalkers on Deck 18 has a great view of the wake and is air conditioned if you are not a pool, sun seeker. If you are a swimmer, the pool at the front that looks like it is part of the Sanctuary is not and is an adult pool. Although small, it is the easiest pool to actually swim in.  Not our thing but there are lots of trivia and game show type activities during the day in the lounges. Hope this helps. Have a great cruise.

If you want a quiet place to read or play cards or anything of that sort during the day head up to Adagio on Sun Deck (16) aft. It's a nice bar that isn't open for business during the day. There is also a "back door" to the outside.

Ha Ha!  We have been married a very long time but we never tell anyone because it would be the end of a long and happy marriage if we did!
