It's a time zone 1 hour earlier than Anchorage and On hour later than Honolulu. I did find it finally.

Rare Jim_Iain Posted May 1 Author #1279 Share Posted May 1 So much tranquility in this sacred place. The wooden boardwalk was installed to preserve the stone carvings.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted May 1 Author #1280 Share Posted May 1 The trail lead us to a beautiful beach and tidal pools. This magnificent site is about 5 miles from the ship near Costco. No
Rare Jim_Iain Posted May 1 Author #1281 Share Posted May 1 The star of the day were the sea turtles lounging and nibbling in the tidal pools. 22
Rare Jim_Iain Posted May 1 Author #1282 Share Posted May 1 (edited) At this point we should have turned around. Since the fish pond trail was closed that would have taken us back to the Ranger Station we took the beach root.... Our Navigator (me) thought it was a short circle along the beach back which turned in to the march from he11 across the lunar surface for 1 1/2 hours. Luckily no one stoned me to death. Rare Jim_Iain Posted May 1 Author #1283 Share Posted May 1 (edited) Since we enjoyed the Coffee Hut at Captain Cooks so much ---off we were for the 45 minute drive. What a beautiful day do sit on the patio and overlook the ocean with gentle trade winds and the absolute shangi-la no trip is complete without meeting the locals. They can be quite tame and lured easily to grape jelly. I still prefer the brown geckos that are more nocturnal which I grew up with here. They make a loud clicking sound similar to the sound horseback riders make with their tongues to signal their horses. It seems like the Maddie is evolving to be nocturnal because the brown ones are disappearing... -Kelley 4
maggieq Posted May 2 #1291 Share Posted May 2 It’s really too bad the solstice will not be including Maui on its future Hawaii cruises. I’m not thrilled about going on another cruise line but this will probably push us to.

Rare Jim_Iain Posted May 2 Author #1295 Share Posted May 2 Did something a little different last night. We moved clocks forward an hour and will move another hour tonight. We decided to turn our clocks forward earlier and ended up eating earlier and ..... I stopped by the Theater while Iain had a smoke. Don't get excited.... I just stayed for the first couple minutes... Looked quite high energy but the theater was less than 1/2 full - Production Show - Broken Strings. 7
Rare Jim_Iain Posted May 2 Author #1296 Share Posted May 2 The demographics have really been weird on both cruises. People must want to stay real casual and dine in OVC. Luminae is always empty. This was last night. I had Prime Rib and Iain had the smoked Trout Starter for Dinner. The deserts were weird, but our waiter talked us into trying. I had the Blueberry Mousse, Lemon Curd with Vanilla Frozen yogurt The other sounded terrible we had to try. Raspberry Licorice Cream - maple granola and Milk Chocolate Ice Cream. i b will say the base was a chocolate mousse with a slight touch of licorice. Ice Cream was the star of the dish. 11

Rare DaKahuna Posted May 2 #1298 Share Posted May 2 Jim — I hope you know you are getting me into trouble. I have been sharing your review, especially the photo’s with my wife and I may have to spring for an Australian to Canada cruise in the next year or so .. We have both really enjoyed all your commentary and beautiful pictures. The warm blue skies are making us envious as it has been over cast, chilly, and rain almost every day since we arrived but thankfully there are clear skies for our sail away here in the next hour or so.
