love2travel2146 Posted April 14 #1 Share Posted April 14 We have a very small OBC of $25 (yippee!). How would you spend it? 😛 Thanks!
Rare Best Cat Mom Posted April 15 #2 Share Posted April 15 Withdraw it from your on board account and use the cash to tip whoever made your trip memorable -- I guess that means you could tip yourself. 😉
Rare DaKahuna Posted April 15 #3 Share Posted April 15 What @Best Cat Mom said. We had a lot more OBC and used the casino, especially the 'bubble roulette' game to take it out of our on board account and turn it into cash. A lot of that was used to tip those we felt went above and beyond.
perakcruiser Posted April 15 #4 Share Posted April 15 I spent a lot of my OBC on booze, birds, and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

riredsox Posted April 15 #6 Share Posted April 15 I bought some Macallan scotch and some Royal Salute scotch. I ran out of both so had to book another cruise. I had quite a bit of OBC.

Most cruise lines I've been on don't make it easy.

When you are in the casino, load money into a slot machine (or buy chips at a table) by charging to your room. Play a bit if you want, then cash out at the cashier to get cash for whatever is left. By that I mean, on another cruise line the chips they issue for OBC are marked as such and can't be cashed out. You can only cash out the "normal" chips you get when you win a hand. So basically, you have to cycle through all of your "OBC" chips before you cash out. Edited April 15 by mnocket
Rare Best Cat Mom Posted April 15 #10 Share Posted April 15 Just now, mnocket said: Do they issue different chips for OBC? No because they don't the specific way you are funding the chips. The amount is charged to your cabin via your cruise card. They don't know if you have OBC available in your cabin account or if you'll be covering extra charges with your registered credit card. Also, if you use the slot machines instead, it is all electronic on the machines themselves. No interaction with a human is needed until you decide to cash out.

luckyinpa Posted April 17 #12 Share Posted April 17 this forum as well as my TA confirmed MSC will not refund even OBC from a TA. so get them to refund via check to ensure you get it.
