This is awesome…can check on the MDR menus on the stateroom TV, even with several hours to go before dinner! IMG_6546.thumb.jpeg.4b35cc2c383f23a31f2c2076a41c545b.jpeg😎

Following too... lovely photos. ☺️

It would be great to know which MDR menu they are using for each day as we are on the same itinerary in July?  🙏

I'd like to know what nights are the formal nights please

For us it is the first sea day and tonight after Corfu! Well tonight is dress to impress but there isn’t a second night called “formal” so I’m assuming that’s what “dress to impress” means for tonight.

BTW, we are on Sun second week. There is a repeat of menu from first week

Also, there are complaints that food is not very hot, especially in Eatery.

I'm not surprised food isn't hot in the Eatery. it's the same on all Princess and Celebrity ships. Why can't they have microwave ovens for passengers to use, who like their food piping hot like i do!

We have discussed this issue with one of the supervisors of eatery and there are microwaves they will use if passenger ask. But good I’m MDR also not very hot.

A few MDR appetizers, dinners, and desserts 😋 I missed a few photos. Sorry if they’re not rotated properly!IMG_6959.thumb.jpeg.08e8f13190dd4f924eadfb2b4046b481.jpegIMG_6957.thumb.jpeg.3d2519018225240a18eabc1b044961ca.jpegIMG_6956.thumb.jpeg.2baea66fd5603fee20e8c3aa5f41549a.jpegIMG_6955.thumb.jpeg.e6af4afa3d2fdabfc6c4ca92ade576fc.jpegIMG_6598.thumb.jpeg.64526b97d2d730aa2680a3707312f7bd.jpegIMG_6599.thumb.jpeg.9d8707a6065f982b03aaa73d083b9e86.jpegIMG_6566.thumb.jpeg.8c73d626f2920ec68a40d556af58f1f0.jpeg

(the chilled flourless chocolate cake from the buffet was way better than the MDR warm chocolate puddle version above…here’s a photo of the buffet one)

Yes, there are a couple of those I’ve seen, however they look more like the Starbucks toaster ovens than a microwave, so may blend into the other appliances sometimes.

I actually just got some meatballs that were heated in that microwave and they were warm but the center wasn’t quite warm enough. Easy to ask for a reheat though once you know where to go.

Excellent news. Thanks.

I have kept well clear of ships' buffets as the food is ALWAYS too cold for me.

I also always tell my table waiter in the MDR at the start of a cruise that I like my food hot. They therefore leave mine until the last to be served on a table of 8, and it is indeed hot enough to my liking.

Last night was Italian night in the MDR, which is fitting as we are docking in our first Italian port as I write this!IMG_7272.thumb.jpeg.2c429330fb60ea6b9facc063e435de94.jpegIMG_7273.thumb.jpeg.b14f5c290603ba7577ade77fc30d6d43.jpegIMG_7274.thumb.jpeg.4aaccda250800fb0d69992b7d5d9dccf.jpegIMG_7275.thumb.jpeg.dbdd918147ce8a704d64a642ba7ae806.jpegIMG_7276.thumb.jpeg.4232fa6b5e4bba5fe695355f609b0454.jpegIMG_7277.thumb.jpeg.550ac038db1b17b1c5c011cd3d2b6a56.jpegIMG_7279.thumb.jpeg.6415e9c32f1134d9c05008fdee758f81.jpeg

note: if you get a side order of lasagna, it’s the same portion as the entree, just on a smaller plate. So really I got a side of fettuccine and a full entree lasagna, instead of 2 side portion sizes 😂

Reminds me of a passengers years ago who complained that all the bread onboard was stale (it wasn't). When I asked what they meant, they expected the bread to be hot out of the oven, which is what they called "fresh". Oh dear.

Looks like the MDR menu is following the menu rotation posted on some other site (easy to do a search to find it).

So Day 2 was formal and Dress to impress was Day 4?
Day 2:  Main course choices would have been:  Falafel, Halibut, Duck, Tenderloin

Day 4:  Italian

What was Day 5 though 7?  Was the menu you had:

Day 5:  Chile Rellenos, Flounder, Coq Au Vin, Roast Beed, Greek Bifteki

Day 6:  Quiche, Fish, Turkey, Pot Roast, Pork Chop

Day 7:  Cauliflower, Prawns, Chicken, Wellington, Lamb

Wonder if the Barcelona to Rome starts off with the Day 8 menu or goes back to Day 1.  There's 10 dinner menus posted.

Enjoying this.

BIL & SIL boarded the Sun in Barcelona. She has sent me a few pics--the rooms are lovely!

Sounds like you had a great time!!

Ok, official response from one of the eatery staff. The buffet (The Eatery, Deck 9) is not fresh squeezed, but you can find fresh-squeezed OJ on Deck 17 (Lido). 😊

juices on deck 17 are coming from despensing machine. Didn't look fresh squeezed.

We just returned from 14 days on the Sun. We found food lukewarm in MDR, even we asked for hot and Eatery, where I asked for my food to be microwaved for a minute.

I just seen this in regard to your review of the Sun Princess. There are 7 or 8 of us that may be doing this ship next year, and I'm trying to get a "head start" on what the ship is all about for the rest of the group that will be with me. Looking forward to reading more.

I'm enjoying the reading/see of the review and pictures. I also liked the suggestion of ASKING the waiter/waitress to HEAT up my food more, as I prefer mine to be hot, and wait for it to cool off, then be at room temperature, as the ship is normally pretty chilly in the first place.
