Future cruise deposit transferable?

I have a cruise in 2026 that I want to cancel and want to transfer future cruise credit deposit to another cruise. Is this possible?

Is it a refundable deposit?

 

Is the FCD (Future Cruise Deposit) still valid (not expired)?

 

Are you before Final Payment?

 

Are you working with a TA or "own" your booking?

 

Then yes, sort of.  You cancel the cruise and the FCD is rebanked in your account.  It may take a few hours/days.

If you already know what cruise you want to transfer it to , do it at the same time.

My experience is that the default is to just refund you the money from the deposit.

Do you have a TA? A good TA should be able to make sure you are able to do that.

I could be wrong but it's my understanding to reap the full benefits of the FCD, the purchase date of the FCD has to also be before the booking date the cruise you want to transfer it to.

If the 2026 cruise has a refundable deposit and the one year time limit has not expired, when you cancel  the FCD will be deposited back into your account. You can then use it to book another cruise.

If the time limit has already expired, then you may be able to use it, but it will take some discussion with Princess. A T.A. is good for this.
