And back on board we go.

Apart from the hectic disembarkation from the previous  cruise the re boarding process  was smooth again.

Airlie Beach today.

Combination of ships tenders and local Catamaran services. The groups went onto shore quickly.

We decided to stay onboard today and enjoy the quiet.

These short cruises are very hectic in terms of crowds and lines, I guess everyone is trying to make the most of it all.

Thankfully  we have a balcony so I am enjoying the peace.20240602_095106.thumb.jpg.bdc1d053be950c3fff61acb33cd35a91.jpg20240602_092636.thumb.jpg.7e934a274ad032eb72f1b3b3c6163b56.jpg20240602_104515.thumb.jpg.1551f0d56dab27ac0c44bb0b4a8efeba.jpg

@ceeceeDee it's  a bit of a mess right now but these are from a few days ago. Same ship just different itinerary. We are a family  of 4.

The bunks take up most of the floor space. Explorer is definitely  the smallest balcony room we have stayed in.

The ladders are in the way also

I travelled in a 4 berth mini suite, although on Princess. The extra room was nice during the day, although one granddaughter didn't like the bunk that dropped down from the ceiling. She wouldn't use it, thinking it might fall down (she was abt 10 or 11 years) and instead slept in a very awkward way on the pull out couch, trying to avoid most of the mattress, still thinking the overhead bunk likely to fall down on her! Other granddaughter took top bunk and every time she flung her arm out in her sleep she'd hit the metal side panel and we'd hear this loud clang!

Some more cabin photos.

We have a quad balcony. Would never pick Explorer for a quad trip again.20240602_181402.thumb.jpg.f2e297552527af50bdfeb3a128a4d765.jpgThe shower is a decent size though, so it's got that going for it! 20240602_181454.thumb.jpg.e72f0477bb603e78d5866506fece36b0.jpg20240602_181445.thumb.jpg.49f2ef273558bca2c95fb4351796dd36.jpg

From the photos it looks like the beds are double-deckers rather than having the top beds pull down from the ceiling (as they are on the Coral). How did it work out?

Golly that certainly is squishy! I thought the balcony cabins on Encounter were small, but I looked it up and Explorer balcony cabins are 13 sq ft smaller!!! (168 sq ft and 155 sq ft respectively).

There are around a dozen of the original Dawn Princess quad balconies, which are still pullman beds. I would avoid those P&O added (as pictured) bunks like the plague.

Yep so squishy. Would never reccomend.

Also our toilet randomly  over flowed yesterday.

Not by us putting anything  no no in it.

I am just throwing out the collected papers from the cruise. For some reason I save everything until I get home and then kick myself for not throwing them out on board 🤷‍♀️

Anyway for those of you that want to see what the Domestic disembarkation at Brisbane International cruise terminal process was, here's  what they gave us:20240613_113945.thumb.jpg.cebb5263a1e6020274990f57a09922fd.jpg20240613_114008.thumb.jpg.07050672e5eb4543ef83784c3ea33333.jpg
