Hopefully we have not reached the point where those of us who cruise or vacation more often than some others (or the average), do not have to apologize for the ability to do so.

Some of "us" are retired.  We have the time but must decide what fits within our budget.  I am a retired enlisted military member.  I raised my children, sent them to college, saved money where I could and lived a nice, but frugal lifestyle.  I cruise often and will continue to do so until my health doesn't allow me to anymore.  I don't judge others and I would hope that others don't judge me.

I wonder if such a thing could be considered board (cruise line) specific?

Tom

I do think it may be somewhat cruise line specific.  I closely follow another cruise line forum and don't find the same judgement of others that cruise often or sail in upper cabin categories.  This is my opinion. I will not respond to flames.

I don't think there is any need to apologize for it - but there is a need, just like with wealth, to understand it is not the norm.

For example - Talking about how you can only afford two yachts while 90% of your audience can't afford a boat isn't elitist - but it's kind of socially tone deaf.

This is an open forum for people to exchange their ideas and experiences.  I have yet to see anyone bragging about their multiple cruises or upper end accommodations.  They are just passing along information. If someone is upset about this, then that is not the poster's problem or issue.

Perhaps we should get back on topic.  Apparently, it is less controversial.  😉

I'm not sure I'd like to be called by name on a cruise ship, unless there was a specific need for it (e.g., I lost something & GS somehow found it).  I think there's some value in the anonymity that mainstream cruises and cruise lines (like Carnival) provide.  Obviously, others think differently.

The point of the post was that there are different experiences.  To be honest, I have never thought of it being important or not to have anonymity in any place, but that is me.  We have had lots of different experiences cruising, from super big, big, medium, small and river cruises.  Do they offer a different experience (in all sorts of ways)?  Sure.  Are there parts of each that we like, and things we do not?  Absolutely.  The ability to experience them for their uniqueness some may think is bad, for me, enhances the expereince.  All that said, in our 75 + cruises, the vast majority have been on Carnival.

We have way more in common than different.  People range off topic here???😱

In the last hour I've received perhaps five notifications of new posts to this thread, but there's nothing new. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Perhaps they are all "Likes", "Laughs", or "Thanks" to your different posts throughout the thread.

Hopeful that a new actual post (yours, thank you!) will set things straight 😁
