Getting to MIA

Recommended Posts

Be sure to grab a cab & not order a rideshare...you never know if it will be 20 min or 45 min in MIA.

Helps if you have TSA pre-check as well. We had a flight at 10 last month and did self-disembark of Icon.  We were at the airport by 6:30 and sitting at the gate by 7:30.

Can I make an 11 am flight from the port of Miami?

Hello @ethel813 and welcome back to Cruise Critic and the message boards! I see it has been a while since you have posted.

Thank you for your new thread. However, it was posted on an incorrect forum and was off topic there. To help you out, I have moved your new thread to the North American Homeports - Florida Departures forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed from there or live there frequent this forum and provide feedback here. Browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest. You may find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that may be of interest to you.

The Cruise Critic website and message boards are both great resources for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are so glad you are posting again! Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community categories list of the various forums. I suggest you put the link in your browser's Favorites for quick & easy access in the future. Please read a few threads in the different forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads (aka stickies) on the top of the first page of threads in most forums. You will find very important instructions or information there.

I also suggest you use the Follow feature on any new threads you start or any other threads or forums where you are interested in the new replies. That way you will not have to go looking to see if there are new posts because they will come l👀king for you as notifications! If you need information on how to do it, please click here: How to: Follow Topics & Forums (Subscribed Threads/Forums Info) and here: How To: Change Email Settings/Unsubscribe: Notification Settings

Hope this will be helpful and glad to have you back aboard Cruise Critic!

Happy sails,

Host Kat

Since we were literally one of the first 20 people off the ship, we just got in the taxi line. I think it was around $40-$45. It was definitely more than I thought it would be for 3 people at that time of day with no traffic.

Yes...That was a pricey ride. We opted for the shuttles that were out front of the POM terminal door. It was $10.00pp. It filled up quickly and we were at MIA in plenty of time for our 11:00am flight.

Do you have to reserve the shuttles outside? Are they NCL shuttles? We have a 12pm flight and we are trying to find the best option. We have a pretty big group....12 people.

No... This is a private company. You just exit the terminal doors and they will have big signs you can't miss them and will direct you to one of their many shuttles. They will be happy to accommodate your group of 12. Perhaps all of you might fit or no concern to use two of them.....which is more likely with luggage. Have cash. This is such an easy option don't be concerned at all. We've actually done this twice and will do it again next March.
