They have moved Silhouette away from Southampton!🙈 Don’t worry, it’s more similar than different. I think there are good and bad points on both lines. We sail more for the itineraries than what type of glassware the cruise line offers, so it goes down to personal choice again. I think if you’re looking for those differences, you’ll find them. However, it is difficult not to compare when you’re a regular cruiser on other line but I’m sure you’ll have a fabulous cruise on Sky.

FlipandLora49 Posted August 1 #153 Share Posted August 1 We have really enjoyed Celebrity and are sailing once again this September on the Ascent. HOWEVER, the itineraries are boring, the IV rooms are a turn off but we will give it a try. Viking sounds perfect but would really stretch our budget. As we shop around for a March cruise we are considering HAL and Princess if the Ports of Call work for us. Our hesitation is that smoking is allowed in the HAL and Princess casinos and we have read negative comments of it wafting into the other spaces as well. Would definitely not like that. The Celebrity strict smoking policy is definitely something that keeps me loyal to the brand. When they started testing vaping I was seriously considering bidding them good-bye, after 80 cruises.
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted August 2 #155 Share Posted August 2 I am sticking with Celebrity, but venturing off due to the fact going on a cruise with my son and grandsons, Celebrity is not a ship for kids.

I’ve tried them many times and know many who love them but I am always bored and a little let down on my Princess cruises. They do have excellent cabin layouts, generally good itineraries and pricing but again…maybe it’s just me. I have sailed many times on Princess. Yes it's boring. We haven't been back because unless you book a mini suite or higher the rooms are not comfortable. No place to sit and to cramped with the closet taking up most of the room and the tiny showers with the clinging shower curtain. Our first cruise with Celebrity was on the Summit where we had an ocean view room. The shower was much larger and there was a place to sit and eat a meal if you ordered room service. On Princess I didn't like having to sit on the bed fully dressed waiting for my wife to get ready for dinner. She was sitting in the only chair in the room putting on makeup and styling her hair. Royal Caribbean also has a small sofa in every category stateroom. If Princess is cheaper for a similar itinerary I will book it. However that hasn't been the case in a few years.
doghog Posted August 2 #157 Share Posted August 2 We sleep around. We like Celebrity, Princess and RC. We like the differences and similarities between all three. We book our cruises based on the itinerary and not the cruise line, ship, tier level perks, ect.
