Seashore Yacht Club inside

We did not have a great experience on the Seashore in June. Just curious - I have read some negative reviews lately about Yacht Club. We do not care about having a butler. Even though we rarely use our balcony we almost always get one. I’m considering bidding on an inside Yacht Club cabin.
We aren’t willing to spring for a balcony in Yacht Club until we test the waters.
Anyone have any advice or opinions?

After 12+ cruises on MSC in various categories/levels we tried an Interior YC on Seashore in April. Cabin was more spacious than I expected and had lots of storage. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed it, for some reason we seldom saw our Butler but were ok with that, enjoyed the proximity of Dining Room and Lounge and Poolside. We had no complaints. For us we did not see any reason/need to have a balcony in the Yacht Club, but everyone feels differently.

Out of curiosity, what have you currently booked and are you being offered an Inside Yacht Cabin? I have found the Interior YC go first so am surprised there are any available.

We are booked in a Fantastica balcony deck 10. We are typically in Aurea but my husband doesn’t care for the spa on the Seashore so it’s not really worth it to us. This will be our 4th time on the Seashore (last sailed in June). It is a move up bid.
I doubt we will get it but after this cruise we are taking a break from MSC.

From what I'm seeing, they offer the YC interior to all new MSCer's or non YC'ers but they end up putting them in a YC balcony. It seems to be an MSC marketing strategy. I'm booked straight up i YC interior in Oct and fingers crossed for a surprise upgrade....

We were booked YC Interior and offered upgrade but it wasn’t worth the $ to us, we kept our Interior and loved it. It was interesting to me that @Jeal seemed to be booked in a cabin outside YC and was being offered a YC Interior upgrade as the YC Interiors are first to sell out. But I suppose it makes sense that they would end up being put in a YC Balcony.

It's possible that a YC interior guest moved up to a YC balcony which opened up a YC interior for Jeal.

Ditto about not needing a balcony in YC.  I can only speak of the Meraviglia, but the dedicated elevator to the pool deck was about a 30 second walk from the cabin and the ride up was another 30 seconds.  First time in YC we had an interior, 2nd time a balcony (which we never used) and third time is going to be an interior.

As someone who books outright and does not use the bid process, all I almost ever see on YC INTERIOR is SOLD OUT.

They are in extremely high demand.   There are not that many and I imagine a lot of people bid for them.

when is your cruise?   How many inside YC are unsold?

We just got home after a great cruise on the Seashore, Interior cabin. We booked a handicap cabin by mistake, 18037. Our butler, Emanuel, met us as soon as we got to the cabin. He covered everything the Yacht Club offered and what his services included. He was outstanding all week. Whatever we needed he took care of it. Nice to be escorted to dinner at the specialty restaurants and off the ship on port days.

Day one, upon arrival at deck 16, we stopped by the concierge desk to let them know we did not need the handicap cabin and would be happy to upgrade to a balcony cabin if the price was reasonable.  At 9 pm on boarding day, we received a call about the upgrade…$1900 for the balcony. I offered $1000 and MSC declined. Balcony stateroom remained empty the entire cruise, confirmed by the butler staff.

18037 was a lot larger than we expected and the bathroom was huge to accommodate a wheelchair. We did enjoy the cabin. This is our 4th YC cruise and first interior YC cabin.

There are cracks starting to show caused by MSC's ever increasing YC prices.  It used to be every YC interior was scooped up almost immediately but I'm seeing more and more sailings where they are going unsold.  At $4K per week I'm not surprised.

It also used to be every YC balcony filled pretty fast but that's not happening either.  Plenty of bidding opportunities is the current way MSC is filling the Yacht Club.

How do you book an accessible room by mistake?  It's clearly shown on deck plans.

That being said, the $1900 sounds SUPER HIGH once onboard, though I do understand that giving up a YIN-HC on the day of the sailing doesn't do anything for anyone - it's not like they are going to ask around - hey, does anyone who needed an accessible room but didn't get it want to switch?

I may be in the minority but.

1. I believe MSC's prices for YC cabins are very reasonable when you consider all that is included.  If so desired, you could enjoy your Yacht Club cruise and never send more than your booking price, except for the daily service charge/gratuities.

2. I wouldn't object if MSC raised their prices somewhat to avoid reducing/diluting the overall YC experience.

OOPS , TYPO.  Should be "spend" not "send".

It's called not paying attention when you hit the book the cabin, my bad.

It's less so than in the past.   Just a few years ago it was unusual for a sailing to have more than a couple unsold YC cabins a few months before sailing.  Now pick almost any sailing a month or so out and you will find lots of available YC cabins, even the YC Interiors are often still available. There's evidently lots of people finding YC prices not that reasonable.  MSC has gone the way of overpricing YC and bidding off all the unsold cabins.  I stopped booking NCL for the same reason.

I’ve noticed a significant price drop in YC cabins for the 2023-2024 cruise season.  Prices are rising for 2025 and 2026 cruises but have not yet caught up to 2022 and earlier pricing.

Here is representative pricing for of some of our past and upcoming cruises.  I choses these cruises for commonality of the following components; 1.) departure port – either Miami or Port Canaveral, 2.) sail date – early February to early March, 3.) itinerary/destination – 7-day Eastern or Western Caribbean, 4.) accommodations - Yacht Club Royal Suite for all cruises. Prices shown are inclusive of Voyager Club discounts, taxes and port fees.

2020 Meraviglia - $9.7k

2022 Meraviglia - $11.9k

2024 Seascape - $8.1k

2025 Seaside - $9.2k

2026 World America - $10.3k

Based on the above, a similar cruise in 2027 or 2028, may hit the price point of our 2022 Caribbean cruise.

I look at it this way: it's still cheaper than NCL The Haven that it is equal (and sometimes superior) to.
