Swabia Posted August 3 #1 Share Posted August 3 My wife and I will be ending our upcoming cruise on Silhouette in Rotterdam on August 28th. The itinerary shows a port arrival time of 6:00 A.M. I'd like to schedule transportation to Amsterdam in advance of our arrival date. What would be a good/reasonable time to schedule a pickup? We will be staying in a suite, so I think we'll have some flexibility on when we can disembark the ship. Thanks in Advance.
mrgabriel Posted August 3 #2 Share Posted August 3 You won't be able to depart until after the ship has been cleared. That is often around 7 AM in most ports. We usually walk-off and the earliest we have been off is probably just after 7 (2nd in line). Average is closer to 7:30.

Rare Jim_Iain Posted August 3 #4 Share Posted August 3 Normally they begin walk off at 7-7:25 followed by Suites then according to the disembarkation luggage tag you receive. Last call is about 9:00 PM.
leaveitallbehind Posted August 3 #5 Share Posted August 3 Not sure if it is a different process in Rotterdam, but unless you sure of the time and prefer to preschedule, you could always request a pick up as you are disembarking and likely not have too long of a wait.

Nado44 Posted August 3 #8 Share Posted August 3 If mobility isn't an issue, you may wish to consider taking the train/rail up to Amsterdam. There's a station right outside the Rotterdam port. The journey requires one change of trains and is about 30-40 minutes in duration. Takes you right into city centre (Centraal station).

Rotterdam is very similar to Amsterdam. In my view Rotterdam is probably more cab and Uber friendly. We were on a B2B and one disembarked in Rotterdam the other Amsterdam. Rotterdam is also very convenient to grab a Subway to Central Station and trains about every 15-20 minutes to Schiphol and Amsterdam

No but the train is only 20-30 minutes to AMS and about 40 minutes to Amsterdam. LOL - or were you pulling my leg Joan about a Subway Sandwich.
