Utopia and punching holes in seapass

Will they allow it or not? Or do they pre punch? I bring beaded lanyard to attach with clip to hole. Won't bring if they no longer do holes. Think my last Royal didn't allow nor did my NCL (our very last cruise we did). I can bring other type of lanyard with sleeve if they don't hole punch. I prefer beaded chain instead of the cloth with sleeve because I don't have to pull out of sleeve but it is what it is.

I would bet it has a chip embedded and you cannot. I have both kinds of laynards now, have to use the sleeve but it works in the sleeve too. Just tap and it opens. All the new ships have chips in the cards so you cant punch holes.

Utopia has RFID cards, no hole punch. 
 

BTW, one never needs to remove those types of cards from the sleeve.

Reports on a FB group show that guest services DID punch holes in card.  YMMV....

The ship could but it's taking a chance they dont want to take. If someone hits the chip then the ship has to make a new card. I'm aware it's possible, but the ship doesnt want holes punched.

Simple, bring a sleeve.  They're cheap.  If it's tap, use the sleeve.  If it's insert, get the hole punched.
